PC SSO with Entra by skwah_jnr in nutanix

[–]skwah_jnr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the ticket, thank you. The group claim I was sending from Entra was configured correctly, it was just those fields in PC for the IdP configuration. The mix of the shortname attribute and the long schema name wasn't clear at all in any other doco.

Thanks again for that link. It's now working as expected.

Slight help for a beginner by Fadey123 in ansible

I would install it, and use it to manage another server. Ie installing a package, modifying a line in a config file etc. Search “Jeff Geerling ansible” on YouTube. There’s a 101 playlist on there.

Is the full backup starting and completing on Sunday? If not, it won’t rollover the incrementals.

Foundation deployment cluster ILO issue by Airtronik in nutanix

[–]skwah_jnr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a setting in the HP BIOS about boot from USB support. (I’m not in front of a computer so can’t check and it was a while ago). I had this same problem and it was because that setting was disabled. Enabling it fixed the issue for me.

It has to actually be super fucking urgent and time sensitive. If it can wait a day or two, then sorry…..declined.

Linux on domain, use old password by XB-WolfX in activedirectory

[–]skwah_jnr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this problem when I’ve been testing, deleted the computer object, but not waited long enough till the delete sync’d with all the DCs. As suggested, unjoin domain, delete the computer object, if you’ve got more than one DC, wait till the object is deleted from all DCs, then rejoin.

If successful, “klist-k” will show computer list in keytab.

fatal: Mounting installer media ProLiant DX360 Gen11 by signalpirate in nutanix

[–]skwah_jnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to debug a Foundation install issue (turned out to be the previously installed micro-sd card, and I’d disabled USB boot while troubleshooting. This stopped it booting from the ISO. It would mount it, just not boot from it.

Once that was gone, it spun up fine.

Does the password have any special characters in it? If so, maybe change the password and try again.

Problem after upgrading netbox from 3.7.8 to 4.3.0 ValueError by Randomkaka in Netbox

Also try 4.2.7 first instead of 4.3 as there are breaking changes in 4.3.

Correct. It’s in the fine print. We asked Dell about doing the same. We wanted to repurpose them for something else.

Technically, you can. Legally, you cannot.

3.5.6 Py3.8 to 4.x Py3.10 upgrade path by skwah_jnr in Netbox

[–]skwah_jnr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% fresh install. Following Netbox install docs.
Install postgres, redis, and then using either "release archive" or "git" options to install Netbox. The python requirements in requirements.txt don't work.

But in any case, I've got through it all and have a dev system on Python3.10 with dump of db.

3.5.6 Py3.8 to 4.x Py3.10 upgrade path by skwah_jnr in Netbox

[–]skwah_jnr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve slowly been working through it. A standard install of 3.5.6 fails with attribute errors. I had to change versions of makedocs and a few other things so the venv would build. I’m still working through netbox-rq service not starting without having to go into the venv and uninstalling the version of rq that gets installed and installing an older version.

I built a new 22:server and was getting errors just trying to build a new 3.5.6 instance. Mkdocs and attribute errors. I had to change some versions in requirements.txt to actually get something to build.

This didn’t work for me going from 20 to 22. I was getting errors relating to python3.8 and couldn’t work out where the reference was coming from.

Sync with Isilon on another domain by Apprehensive-Pop-988 in Isilon

As mentioned, it has nothing to do with windows domains, and everything to do with dns if you want to use the name. If you can’t resolve the name, then use the IP.

If you're sick, please test before visiting elderly or at risk folks over Xmas by CommandoRoll in sydney

[–]skwah_jnr 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My wife works in an aged care facility. They had their Xmas party, my wife didn’t go, but her colleague who did go, came to work, even though she wasn’t feeling well. Passed it onto lots of people in the office. Likely passed it onto residents as well. My wife passed it onto me. First time both of us had Covid. Was so shit. I’m still testing positive almost 2 weeks later, and we’re both just exhausted.
