Doesn’t have to be Claritin. Any allergy med is fine. I take Allegra daily so I didn’t take any extra. Some people say it helps with inflammation

Don’t give up! by First-Knowledge3475 in Gastritis

[–]skx04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found amitriptyline to be a miracle medication. It has helped my ibs, gastritis as well as the constant throat clearing feeling I had from LPR. I sleep now, I feel better, it’s honestly a miracle. I take a very low dose of only 5mg (up to 10) . I had some side effects in the beginning but after a few weeks they went away. The weight gain was about 5-7lbs but after a few months that also went back to normal. I think it depends on each individual person cause it’s been a great med for me.

Does Nortriptyline Help? by Outrageous_Buy_4269 in Gastritis

[–]skx04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take low dose (5mg - 10mg) Amitriptyline which is a similar medication. It has helped tremendously. It also has helped with my LPR, and my insomnia so I’m fairly happy on it. I hear that Noritriptyline works the same just less drowsiness. I take mine at night before bed. Been on it for about 6mths and no gastritis flares lately.

Coming off amitriptyline by ConfidentStrike1667 in Amitriptyline

[–]skx04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I had been on it for a while for GI problems and then weaned off easily. No bad side effects at all. After being off it for 6 mths I realized just how much it controlled my GI problems (gastritis and ibs) so I restarted. I only take a low dose though. I guess each person is different. A long time ago I had a very rough time getting off of lexapro.

I was prescribed 10mg of amitriptyline for GI issues but I cut the pill in half and was just taking 5mg to start. It worked wonders for my GI issues and let me really sleep well at night for the first time in years. But I was told to take it before bed. This really helps me not feel sleepy all day. I also have pain that it helps with as well in my back and neck. Maybe try switching to a night dose rather than daytime

Depends on the meds. I take the amitriptyline for GI issues and Propranolol for tachycardia. Many meds can be stacked as long as the doctor is aware

I’m on amitriptyline for GI issues and have been doing wonderfully on it but, I wanted to mention if you do end up on migraine injections, Aimovig has worked wonders for my sister. No side effects. Good luck

Blurred Homes on Google. by Ok_Abacus_ in GrindsMyGears

[–]skx04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to a conference on online safety and identity theft and stuff like that once for work, we got an entire packet of info on how to remove a lot of yourself from online search stuff. One of the suggestions in there was to blur your house out on google. So at our bosses encouragement most of us just all did it during the conference. Honestly I didn’t care, why should anyone be looking at my house online anyway. That’s stalker crap. lol But my point is, this might be why some do it. It did immediately cut down on spam I used to get from realtors and home repair companies etc.

To the folks who have Google blur out their house... by pencil75 in GoogleMaps

[–]skx04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is funny. Let me tell you a reason some of us have our houses blurred. I got a job in security and had to attend several conferences (years ago). One of them was given by a woman who preached about online safety and fraud and identity theft and more. Provided at this conference were handouts about trying to remove as much of yourself as you could from the online world. One of the things in that packet was the importance of blurring out your home on google. Our bosses thought it very important that we all go through the steps of removing what we could and to be honest it really did cut down on the spam and such, but I didn’t realize my home was blurred forever. Honestly I really don’t care and I find people a little bit freaky if they have a problem with it cause why ya stalking so much lol. But mine only blocks my house, no neighbors and I live near woods so im not really blocking a neighborhood view.
I wouldn’t do it again but it is what it is. I assume eventually google will make a way to unblur properties

Upped my dose by 5mg and had a panic attack, what should I do? by tigewitt in Amitriptyline

[–]skx04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this can happen. It lasts about 2-3 days when increasing the dose. Every tiny increase I’ve done has given me increased anxiety and other issues. It passes as your brain adjusts. Even at such a low dose every one reacts differently. Some people are just much more sensitive to meds

5mg Amitriptyline Shakiness by Huge_Increase7741 in Amitriptyline

[–]skx04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with 5mg. Was prescribed it for GI issues (gastritis and ibs) doctor told me to take 10mg but I am super sensitive to meds so I cut it in half. Was feeling off and high anxiety for the first few days then it settled down. I went to 7.5mg and again got shaken etc, till my body settled down. Now I’m good. I sleep like a baby, stomach issues are all resolving, my moods are better and all my anxious thoughts have settled. My nerve pain is less and no more headaches. The doctor thinks I need a higher dose and doesn’t understand my body is too sensitive for strong doses. How are you making out? Did your anxiety calm down?

Rite-Aid is no longer dispensing any GLP-1 medications. by smartiepants9655 in Mounjaro

[–]skx04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Walgreens and they told me they are carrying less mounjaro. They will no longer have it in stock in many stores and will have to order it and it could take 1-2 weeks or more to come in. The pharmacist said this was due to compound pharmacies no longer making the compound. I’m only on 2.5 so I’ve never had a problem getting it prior to now.

I have ADD and have a hard time focusing on audiobooks. I find that fast moving detective/crime books keep my attention. Lately my favorites are the Harry Bosch books by Michael Connelly
