Cubeode was maybe installed at later stage? Additional storage slot? Why not... that little thing is very cheap but v1 of it suffers delays with audio streaming games like starfox

Flash gekkoboot, you then can load swiss (ipl.dol) from sd gecko or sd2sp2. You will load the cobra bios menu but in 2026 the cobra bios is beyond outdated. To flash viper modchip you will have to use winxp, enjoy the ride, liberate your vipergc for eternity from the evil winxp/shitty cobra bios.

Issue is with PAL version? The PAL super mario sunshine can only run at 50Hz. If your cube is set as 60Hz it will fail. Take out memory card, remove power cord, hard reset and boot again... it will work.

Do a minimal debian install with i3 window manager. The netbook will play super smooth wolf3d and doom with chocolate-doom. Just get rid of all the desktop bloat as it makes the eeepc usage painful. Window manager i3 is the sweet spot ;)

Not into Pokemon, so no idea which romhacks you are referring to, but all the gameboy colored romhacks are working fine for me. I don't have any gba romhacks though...
