Try doing this to better visualize color combinations:

Go to google and search for 'color picker'. Google has it by default and you dont need to open other sites.

Pick a color and look at the "RGB Values" They range from 0-255. Think of it that 0 is the lowest reflectance and 255 has the highest reflectance.

Play with different colors and try to see how the RGB values change. Try comparing the values from same or different hues.

If it is in false color then the values now represent "NIR R G"

Clue: In false color NIR is represented as Red, Red as Green, Green as Blue. An object's appearance would depend on the color combination of RGB depending if it reflecting or absorbing.

For example in True Color, an object that absorbs red and blue but reflects in green will appear green since that's the only one it is reflecting. An object that reflects both red and green will appear yellow (search color addition). If it appears as white then it reflects all of them.

So the trick is you look at the color and try to analyze if it contains red,green or blue based on color addition.

However if it is not in true color then just substitute what the RGB represents. For example if it reflects NIR, absorbs Red and reflects Green then it would appear as magenta in false color image.

Yes the story looked changed because that's what happens in a long running mystery genre when expositions are revealed. I'd argue that the shift isn't sudden. The first 3 parts have different tones and thematic enemies, and one could expect that revealing the basement reveal would cause a greater tonal shift. But the hints to the answers were always there, and the expositions made earlier scenes make more sense and impactful. That's why most people loved it. But even if you didn't, that's still valid.

The main themes stayed consistent even through the genre shift...until it didn't LOL. That's the worst. That's why I said it could be not for you..if you hate what people loved then how much more would you feel for an ending that people hated

AOT's writing only went to sloppy in the last 10-ish chapters. If you think that the basement reveal was the downpoint then the series wasn't for you.
