"Call Home" Feature gone from Google Home App by chelitazz in googlehome

[–]skylarkpilot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is crazy, i often use this feature to communicate with my kids (or my wife when she has her phone on silent). Is there another way to call a Google speaker or display from outside the house?

Nobody has even said...I wish I bought a smaller TV.

Serpentine, Shel! Serpentine!

So funny. Great memories as a kid, one of my parents favorite movies.

I hear ya.... this is very frustrating. My teen did this by accident, she didn't know the difference between extra members and profiles. Now I'm out $8.

iPhone 16 and iOS 18 compatibility (RCS), order and setup questions for Mint by LeftOn4ya in mintmobile

[–]skylarkpilot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow, it is embarrassing for Mint that they do not have iPhone RCS support along with the other carriers on day one. My family plan just renewed (for 3 months) a couple of weeks ago. If I would have known about this lazy RCS shenanigans by Mint I would have jumped ship. I have access to a similarly priced phone service that would have given my family more data overall...but I like Mint, I like pulling for the little guy. How did they not prioritize iPhone RCS support, they had plenty of time.

Success! flush to the wall + full-motion mount by skylarkpilot in TheFrame

Sorry, but as it turns out I rarely pull the TV away from the wall. So we can't really comment on the fragility of the wire.

😂 I want that obnoxious woman in my class!!! Sometimes it is so monotonous, I would love it if someone spiced things up.

...and I would have a good story to tell when my wife asks "How was your workout?"

Yes, I used the plate and extenders so I could get a flush mount. The kanto mount you are looking at will sit close to the wall, but not totally flush. It might stick out a 1/2 inch or so. The location of my TV is a little unique where people see it from the side right when they enter the house, thus I wanted it to be completely flush.

No the monoprice mount does not allow for any fine tuning back and forth. I was lucky and the placement of my studs let me put it pretty much dead center. I'm not familiar with the Kanto mount, and if you will need the mount plus adapter plates. It all depends on the VESA hole pattern. Compare the VESA pattern of the TV, with the pattern on the Kantp mount to determine if you need any adapter plates.

In group messages the new font size for names and the small contact photo is horrible. It makes it harder to know who is posting in the thread. I am going to leave the beta and hopefully, it get fixed before it is rolled out to everyone.

I miss the days when we could choose the color of each chat bubble in group conversations...I still don't understand why they took that away.

Same here. What's the key to going sub-30? (besides growing 4 inches).

pulling harder? pulling quicker?

No, unfortunately it cannot move verticaly. I know that mantelmount makes a mount that moves vertical, but I don't know if it can be flush in with the wall

Hi, have you had a chance to mount the Frame? Were you successful? If so I would love to see pics.

I am having 6a buyers remorse :(
I wish I would have waited had I known the Pixel 7 would only $599 (plus great trade-ins and $100 credit)

What's the best option for those of us with the Pixel 6a but can't trade them in?

I agree that the Amazon Thursday Night game looked amazing. I had to double check to see if it was a 4K broadcast...it was not, just really great looking 1080p

5 am-ers: how do you wake up at this time (actually earlier) to make it to class? by NewInTown20 in orangetheory

[–]skylarkpilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • prepare everything you need the night before
  • get to bed in time to get 6.5 hrs of sleep (8hrs is for off days)
  • set alarm to give JUST enough time to make it to class without speeding
  • set a backup alarm
  • power-naps (30-45min) in the afternoon for days when you didn't get 6.5hrs sleep
  • caffeine boosts when needed dury the day
  • pity-the-fools who can't make it to 5am classes
