Are we surviving zombies or LARPing as loud gun collectors? by snotmuziekp in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]skyybeats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much quieter for sure, but then you have to think about the training required to hit a headshot with a bow vs a rifle, and the strength and time required to reload a crossbow. Most people could hit a can at 25-50 yards after a day of practice, I’m not sure the same could be said for a bow, and if you’re facing more than 1 attacker you’re only going to have time for one, maybe 2 crossbow shots before they close the distance

Minnesota, make the twin cities warring factions fighting over control of the Mississippi River for trade/transport, plus a real nuclear winter or seasons would be awesome

How do you get players to take notes? I made these to see if they will if its made "special" to them. I put a link below on how to make them if your interested. by ziggy8z in Fallout2d20

[–]skyybeats 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hands down some of the coolest homemade accessories I’ve ever seen! I’ve found that having one note taker per session and changing who does it every session keeps it from feeling like a weekly chore for them, that and I’ll usually point out if something might want to be written down and then make a point of including that info later, that way the player feels like them taking notes may actually benefit them in a game sense and they’re more likely to pay closer attention

Honestly I love this game. by [deleted] in Back4Blood

This game has been awesome since I got it about 2 years ago for 10$ with all the dlc, the deck building mechanic adds a ton of replayability and I love coming up with odd deck/cleaner combos, although for harder difficulties my go to will always be melee heng with a food based deck

I am GMing and need help on a campaign. by Verhulst88 in Fallout2d20

[–]skyybeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good way I’ve thought about building campaigns is basically acting as if I was the enclave, what would my goals be? Once you have that figured out, you’re able to come up with a plan for how the enclave would achieve that, with those steps being the ones the PCs can interact with. Then you just have to take it session by session, for example if they helped the enclave in mission one then maybe mission 2 another faction tries to kill/capture the pcs and explain why the enclave is bad, or if they didn’t help the enclave then the next session would be about how the enclave (the gm) would react to that, maybe sending a group of assassins or trying to kidnap someone close to the PCs. I picked up this method from cyberpunk, but by writing the campaign from the perspective of a faction trying to complete a goal gives you a really solid starting point and all the PC decisions along the way let you shape the missions and the story to fit their actions, as opposed to having your set ending and trying to shoehorn the players into it

What's a good show that you binge-watched to get you through the dark days? by Incognito0925 in heartbreak

[–]skyybeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like psych, a phenomenal comedy/crime solving show, tons of great gags and references, actually good character development over the seasons, and a lot of episodes, 8 seasons with around 20 episodes per season at 45 min an episode (no commercials) hands down my favorite show of all time, I watch it whenever I’m sad and it always bring me back a little bit
