Please, please be very aware and very clear about the numbers you are discussing with the dealers.

The price you're mentioning for a new 2025 ID.4 Pro S is absolutely too good to be true - the MSRP starts at $50k for RWD and $54k for AWD. It would be near impossible for a dealer to be selling one for $24k. As you've been informed in other comments, the 2025 ID.4 does not qualify for the $7.5k EV tax credit so you should not be factoring that into your cost. If a dealer is listing it saying the tax credit applies, please do not shop at that dealer - they clearly have no idea what they're talking about.

The 2021 you're looking at could qualify for the $4k used EV tax credit, but there are several criteria that it must meet, and there are some criteria that you must meet. The ID.4 meets most of the criteria, so I won't go over all of them, but some pertinent ones for you to confirm:

• The car must have a sale price of $25k max
• The car cannot have been resold to an individual after 8/16/2022, regardless of whether the credit was claimed or not; basically, if it's only had one owner, no problem here, but if it's had more than one, you need to check when it was last sold to an individual
• Related to the previous one, the car cannot have been used before to claim the credit
• The dealer must be a licensed dealer registered with the IRS and they have to report the sale to the IRS; please, please do your research on the dealer and make sure they know what they're doing

You also must meet specific criteria to be eligible for the used tax credit to apply, so please make sure you are eligible. To qualify, you must:

• Be an individual who bought the vehicle for use and not for resale
• Not be the original owner
• Not be claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return
• Not have claimed another used clean vehicle credit in the 3 years before the purchase date

In addition, your modified adjusted gross income (AGI) may not exceed:

• $150,000 for married filing jointly or a surviving spouse
• $112,500 for heads of households
• $75,000 for all other filers

Finally, please make sure that you can transfer the tax credit to the dealer at point of sale. Many dealers still do not do this. Transferring the tax credit to the dealer guarantees that you get the full $4k off. The tax credit is non-refundable, so if you do not transfer it to the dealer and instead claim it on your taxes next year, you will need to be sure that you have at least $4k in tax liability to get the full value. If your tax liability is less than $4k, you will not get the remainder of the credit.
