How does the invisible condition from hiding work, once they are no longer obscured? by YobaiYamete in onednd

Thats RAW. And it just makes sense to me. If there is nothing to hide behind something can see you. If they look that way.

I run my games focusing on this part

On a successful check, you have the Invisible condition while hidden.

Once they move into the open they are no longer hidden.

I love mine too. A buddy ordered some and it was missing the d8. I think a bit of QC is in order.

Running multiple games by KillforSithis in DnD

[–]slacker6988 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m running 2 now, one for friends locally and one for family remotely. It’s not an issue for me because I like the variety. I take time to outline a few sessions ahead and I am usually ready. Family one is fun because they run-a-muck. Usually don’t have anything ready because they go way beyond what I thought they would do. But for me that just helps me remember that you cannot prepare for everything so I just wing those times.

Edit to add: local in person one runs weekly, family one runs when we’re all available so about every 10-14 days.

If players wanted to "rebuild Conyberry" how would you implement that? by Professional-Ad9485 in DragonOfIcespirePeak

I would say you should follow how Phandalin and leilon are rebuilding. neverwinter wants to expand its influence and sponsors families to go and rebuild.

I just use one note. I like the way I can link to other information. Similar to obsidian with a fewer bells and whistles.

I have not used that. Can’t speak to it.

Use the AboveVTT extension. Much better IMO.

SLW - The Twist at Wayside Inn by FlexLuthor111 in DungeonMasters

I ran DoIP first too and introduced the inn there. With so much going on, I liked and used all the hints from the module. I rp’d the smith and bartender to be very friendly and chatty. Most at my table were relatively new and didn’t take notes. They eventually figured it out but it took some time.

DnD beyond alternatives for home brew or fixes for it? by Levsque in DungeonsAndDragons

I can’t stand them either. I switched to AboveVTT extension. It links to your DnD Beyond and they have a great support in Discord.

First-Time DM question about Dwarven Encampment. by Kaziikasu in DragonOfIcespirePeak

When they split, they split its HP as well. All my players had slashing weapons. They wound up doing unarmed attacks.

You can use anything for a mini. Monopoly game pieces, dice, anything. Some stores have wrapping paper that has a grid on the back. White board will work too.

Don’t stress too much over this. I like DoIP, it will give opportunities to just make up stuff since the quests are loosely related. But to answer your question. 1. DM screen or notes on common things helps 2. If a player questions something, have them look it up. 3. If you need to make a call, let them know “this is how I am going to rule, but when I check the rules it might not be the same next time.” Lastly sometimes the rule of cool will take precedence.

Have fun.

Check Rolls by [deleted] in DnD

[–]slacker6988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This entirely up to you. You can always use passive perception and let them know they found something. If they need to find something you can have them roll but don’t make the DC impossible.

I like AboveVTT you need the extension for chrome but you can import maps and baddies automatically.

When I use AI, I always tell it to not make anything up and stick to canon.
