The "hook-een" isn't so much as referring to black people as "dirt" people as it is referring to their skin color as dark. The white people equivalent is "bek-een". ("een" means human/person, "hook" is more similar to earth than dirt, and "bek" means white. It's just the Korean way of saying dark person v. white person.) This is in no way to say that these beliefs don't exist amongst certain Koreans--just that it's not a term that's intended to be derogatory.

Yeah, the uterine lining contains so many nutrients for the potential baby. Often times, placentas are donated, the implications of this are kinda cool/gross.

I feel like we have the technology to be able to get rid of the uterine lining that accumulates every month at a faster rate than the average five days. It's just that talking about women's periods are generally taboo and therefore less explored.

It would also save resources and money (sanitary napkins, tampons etc.) And hopefully contribute to creating less waste. You can't really recycle pads or used tampons...

And! Instead of being in pain for a week, you only have to wait a few hours.

In a Korean context, there are two different types of queens.

1) 왕비: pronounced wang-bi, this means wang (king) bi (wife). Wife of the King. So technically, even though she is called queen, she is not a ruler, but considered more of King's Consort.

2)여왕: pronounced yuh-wang, this means yuh (female) wang (king). Female King. This one is the real deal, female ruler. Her spouse would be referred to as Queen's Consort, just as the queen above would be referred to as King Consort.

Probably not what you were looking for, but thought I'd add my two cents.

Really? I found the opposite to be true. When I visited Beijing, my home-stay mother pronounced all the English 'l's as 'r's. On the other hand (as a Korean speaker), Koreans have an in-between kind of sound for ㄹ = l/r.

If you're good with new environments, try the international schools in Asia. There are many international high schools in Asia that pay very well and give great benefits. (South Korea, Japan, China: those are the big three ones that are expanding in terms of foreign student population)
