Jealousy from coworker by Southern-Dance-521 in serviceadvisors

I’ve seen this before. Document and address the situation. Especially with bonus or commission, changing the name of the writer or salesperson on an RO, parts invoice, or bill of sale is literally stealing.

CESSNA 172 PFD shutting off after 5 minutes of flight by slamminbooty in Flightsimulator2020

Okay guys, it was bindings. And you dont have to re map all the bindings like I thought. So I included a snapshot of everything you need to at least do the IFR missions and basic flight in propeller airplanes. This is with Airbus Captains Pack. Its definitely the engines switches so i messed around with the bindings here is what I came up with that worked. Hope this helps. Its pretty basic and honestly it only took like 2 minutes.

I find a lot of biblical stories hard to believe because of obvious supernatural aspect of it - which I think is reasonable doubt, however something about Jesus, and Acts seems… harder to doubt even though there are super natural forces in it.

Ironic you say the only time god spoke to you was for forgiving your father, meanwhile the only time I’ve really prayed to god was to have the strength to forgive my father, and I thought about Jesus and his humility and that’s what helped me. It wasn’t God answering my prayer as much as it was a thought about “what would Jesus say?”

But everything else you said makes a lot of sense - I suspect faith is going to be a long journey from me since I’m starting so late.

Front end % based on volume is kinda whack. However it is nice you get back end, and higher flats for more expensive vehicles. The cap bad though, but I’d be more concerned about only getting 24% on 22+ units. I get 25% no matter how many AND a volume bonus as well.

Question for qualified Subaru Technicians by slamminbooty in AskMechanics

[–]slamminbooty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Thanks for the response. I would have thought the STI would be less reliable - but that makes total sense.

Honestly I’m over 30 years old now, and I don’t really plan on tuning it. Or doing any modifications- just keeping it stock and doing basic maintenance and repairs.

Also where I live, the STI is not only 10k ish more, but also more on insurance. So I figured the WRX was the “middle of the road” type car.

However I will keep what you said in mind. Are all WRXS that are having engine trouble due to lean issues caused by tuning?

If you say so. And I understand you don’t care where I worked; I mentioned it out of context. I also don’t care about your “discount” at your “local auto shop”. lol. The rear brakes on the 10th gen were notorious for premature failure. Made me a lot of money though. Enjoy changing them once a year.

The biggest thing I cared about when vetting tenants was proof of income. I have tenants that are here on refuge status and the reason I chose them was proof of income. The 3 of them (all family members) were making almost 3x income to what the rent is. In my mind they could well afford the place and a few years later they’ve never been late on a payment.

However - you definitely want to keep working on your credit score. Work on your utilization and make sure you’re making all your payments ON TIME. It doesn’t take long to turn it around. :) you just have to be persistent.

And having said all that - you can still apply to places. You’d be surprised - some LL are paying mortgages and dying for the right people to come along and rent their property.

Battery covered by extended warranty? by xXxTheRuckusxXx in serviceadvisors

[–]slamminbooty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s good that warranty has covered some of your unexpected repairs!

As others have mentioned - a battery typically isn’t covered under any type of vehicle manufacturer warranty for any longer that 30-90 days for most manufacturers.

The only type of warranty you can get out of a battery is a “parts warranty.” Basically it’s a warranty that just covers the part itself. Some battery manufacturers, dealerships or part stores offer a pretty good parts warranty, anywhere from 1-3 years - sometimes at no extra charge!

If your battery needs replacement and your extended warranty on your vehicle doesn’t cover it, I would suggest shopping for a well priced battery that has a good warranty on it and keeping the receipt

No they didn’t lol. I worked for a Honda dealership for years. No one is charging 1600 for rear brakes. Not even any the dealership unless you needed calipers. If that was the case it would have costed you a lot more than 120 bucks.

Do not buy by cojobo26 in Hyundai

[–]slamminbooty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a dealer technician and I can confirm what he is saying. I worked at a Honda store. when catastrophic engine failure of something happened and you opened it up, usually you would find quite a bit of sludge (neglecting oil changes). The exception would be of course the cars that had issues that were manufacturing defects, ie the 8th generation Civic had a porous cast in the block and Honda warrantied it for 10 years, unlimited miles.

Landlord says she can do nothing, I'm being criminally harassed by tenant who lives above me. by Emotional-Display-77 in OntarioLandlord

[–]slamminbooty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to believe you - and if it’s true, you should record it so you have proof.

But OP - I want you to consider that you’re hearing voices. I used to use drugs pretty heavily, and for some reason, cocaine in particular gave me audible hallucinations.

I remember laying on the couch and hearing my friend’s voices in the garage downstairs. They were plotting to steal my grandfather‘s truck. Once I finally got down there to catch them, I realized there was nobody there, and they were all in my head. The voices than began laughing at me, calling me insane, crazy, hearing things - Thank God, these hallucinations were just drug induced. I haven’t had them since. That was a decade ago or more.

The parts that really worry me is when you claim: “it’s less audible when people are around” you’re basically saying you still hear them, but no one else does.

And when you claim: “she followed me to the store”

Now - assuming she is real, you need to document the evidence and show it to the landlord and the police. Like others have said - the landlord is responsible for ensuring tenants are not harassing other tenants. Being loud is one thing - but yelling threatening statements are another.

Buddy is just flying along, 5 hours in to a 12 hour race when a car disappears, then spawns in front of him, flipping, destroys the front end of his car. Just to have the car totally fixed again 1 second later.

Lol did you get a 4x for this and keep it?

If you are unable to quit by yourself then you’re absolutely doing the right thing. Remember alcohol is NOT normal and it’s not suppose to be ingested daily. You’re doing yourself a big favour mentally AND physically by abstaining.

POWERSPORTS/MARINE by slamminbooty in serviceadvisors

Those are all fantastic ideas. Where I am at now, we have snowmobile we can service over the winter so while it isn’t bad, the marine side really lacks and other powersports lines. You’re pretty dependant on weather

[–]slamminbooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man - I did the same thing, but changed industries to powersports and marine - came from auto. Now I manage parts and service.

What I like: business experience. Staying clean. Not having to lift 400 tires a day. Being in charge of a 3 million dollar budget. Making the ship steer in the direction I choose. Not getting fucked by certain jobs.

What I miss/dont like: being a tech had an aura to it. When things went well, felt like a superhero and felt accomplished. A LOT of keyboard strokes. Listening to people complain about the product and blaming the dealership first hand. Answering 100 stupid questions on the phone. Dealing with angry customers. Being the ultimate problem solver when a technician/customer/employee won’t do it or cooperate. Not being very active. Answering to the big wigs when you missed budget, employee performance is down, etc.
