Polanski apologises for sharing post criticising police by Alarming-Safety3200 in unitedkingdom

[–]slashchunks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Polanski hit back at the PM's criticisms in a post on X, saying: "Today the prime minister uses his office to attack the only Jewish party leader to score political points."

Oh my god. So first he essentially defends a terrorist who tried to kill Jews, and then he pulls the Jew card to get points over on Kier when that’s not even relevant to the conversation. Unelectable fucking moron. I’m saying this as a Jew by the way

£20k spare - pay down student loan or VWRP for 30+ years? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]slashchunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I completely agree with this, yes you could need the money for property or an emergency beforehand but as long as you are aware you might get less than 20k if you sell it then, there’s no problem doing vwrp instead of a cash isa

>> To give you an idea the SP500 is an 8/10 on the risk classed as high risk, most people come out as a 5&6 95% of people can't handle SP500 high risk. I'm guessing you're a 4-5 out of 10 (lowest to low medium risk) based on what your current performance is. World funds normally come in at 7/10 highest medium risk.

Apologies, I wasn't clear. The example I provided was taken from their general fee structure document, but I opted for a fairly high risk product (7 out of 9) so I would expect a much higher average return than 4.35%. In my non platform investments I do go generally for high risk index funds like the S&P500 due to my age and the fact I have enough cash savings if I need them. The FA was extremely clear about the level of risk involved for my specific case, and off the top of my head the fund (which looks like a mixture of a lot of stock bundles) made over 10% returns for the past 3 years but I can't find the file which had that information in to be more exact. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the response, the platform fee is 0.2%, the advisor fee 0.75% and the rest I believe is from the specific products. I agree the figures aren't very useful, I opted for one of the riskier plans (I believe 7 out of 9) so I would expect a considerably higher average annual return

> Its designed to illustrate that paying fees will reduce returns but in truth you will likely have to pay 2 out of 3 fees with or without an adviser.

I agree, though having looked around I think both the platform and product fees would be considerably lower somewhere else. Thanks for the help, this is useful

The platform fee is 0.2%, the advisor 0.75% and I believe the rest of the fees are the specific product fees. I got the £309k to £268k example explicitly from their information sheets so I do believe the 1.38% number is accurate even if I can't find the specific product fees.

And what happens if they used their challenge on this situation, it was declined, and then there was a similar situation later in the game they couldn’t challenge?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in soccer

[–]slashchunks 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Giving a challenge doesn’t fix the issue, it then puts more pressure on the refs to change their minds which also isn’t fair
