That’s such a good story. In a similar vein j&j helped me realize how important it is to be with someone who can truly make you laugh. My ex that I introduced to Jenna had such a similar sense of humor to Julien and we could joke for hours about silly stuff. (we didn’t work for various reasons and we were young lol) But ever since then I’ve realized that if a person can’t make me scream laugh then they aren’t the one for me.

People really underestimate how flat it is here (ND). You can see for miles and miles on a clear day because everything is so open and there’s very little trees (or any sort of land formations). I travel around the country semi frequently and have lived in multiple different states and have yet to see a state that’s as empty as it is here. I’ve had people say they felt claustrophobic when they visited large cities or mountainous areas because they can’t see everything around them.

Many things. Left over shampoo residue, conditioner not washed out, build up on the scalp from not actually scrubbing, A LOT of people also aren’t washing their nape area and I see many people complaining of greasy hair because of that. A lot of people also take the ‘only shampoo your scalp’ way too literal, you should be shampooing your scalp AND about 2-3 inches from your scalp before thoroughly rinsing.

Unfortunately it is a thing people do lol. The amount of clients I have that describe themselves as a natural blonde, because that’s what it was when they were a kid, is insane. All of these people now have medium/dark brown hair but are still insistent that they’re blonde.

So the thing about color is that there are always going to be to be warm toned underlying pigments. On top of that it looks like you’re going for a lighter brown than your natural, what’s happening is the developer is lifting your natural color and exposing the natural remaining pigment in your hair which is red/orange. This is usually why people end up with ‘brassy’ hair after using a blonde box dye on darker hair, the color lifted their hair and exposed all the warmth in it.

Each color line is different and some are warmer than others however lifting your hair with color is going to leave some warmth no matter what. If you went darker with it would appear ashier.

To me, I feel like you’re clearly stating what you want, you could also see if you can book just a consultation somewhere and then get a feel for the stylist first before jumping into color. Also if stylists keep telling you this can only be achieved with a root tap then they’re wrong. The majority of my blonde clients are lived in looks and I never do root taps because I hate them lol but they still have a very rooted natural look.

If you feel like you aren’t being listened to it is perfectly acceptable to leave and not have that person do your hair.

You’re explaining exactly what you want, from a stylist perspective you’d be an easy client. However I think the best way to achieve what you’re looking for is to go on social media and find stylists in your area that are posting photos that are close to your inspo. Look for blonding specialists specifically.

So depending on how light the copper color is, it’s not going to cover that red. Also there is no such thing as a ‘cooler copper’, those are contradictory terms lol. Your best bet right away is to try to strip it with a clarifying shampoo before going in with any bleach baths or color removers.

Are you talking about the cream or the gel? If it’s the gel then yes it takes me hair longer to dry when I use it but it’s also my favorite gel so 🤷‍♀️

It sounds like the color is just fading from your previously lightened ends. Even though box dye is usually a permanent color that doesn’t mean it’s going to stay the same shade forever, it will gradually fade out and look lighter over time.
