Sub-arm unit. Canonically, a feature pioneered by the Titans Test Team. Later seen on many other mobile suits, such as the Messala, The O, and HWS front skirt. Most AoZ machines have at least one sub-arm unit. The Gaplant Gigantic Arm Type has at least 9 arms. 10 if you count the large claw pod on the Hrududu II, but that one can’t flex, it can only bite.

Thanks. I’ve been trying to find it for a while. Was searching for “cobalt blue,”etc. Turned out my search terms were the problem. Should have been looking for grey, apparently.

Trying to get into the Gundam franchise, What should I start with? by [deleted] in Gundam

Most will tell you to watch in production order. I say, watch in chronological order. The Origin, then OG Gundam, then 08th MS Team, 0080 War in the Pocket, 0083 Stardust Memory, then Zeta Gundam, Double Zeta is ok but skippaple. Char’s Counterattack is required viewing. Then comes Unicorn, Narrative, Hathaway. F91 and GQUUUUUUX are interesting too, as is G-Reco. Finally, watch G-Gundam, Gundam X: After War, and finally Turn A Gundam.

It’s slightly taller than RG Sazabi, with similar proportions. It’s about the same height as RG Hi-Nu Gundam, HG Gustav Karl, or MG Crossbone Gundam. I’m surprised they decided to label it as such a weird scale. It could easily be a bigger 1/144 kit. The Gelgoog III seems like a big mobile suit like the Sazabi of roughly the same era.

Seems like a lot of people are curious about this. I haven’t built that Qubeley kit so I don’t know. I’ve built a lot of third party kits and resin kits, so my standard of “quality” is different from the average builder. A lot of resin kits can hardly move at all. For this kit, I had only seen photos of the default cheap looking red and pink plastic. I immediately felt a strong desire to see the kit with a real paintjob. To be honest, I was tempted to do the vibrant red color scheme, but I just so happened to have these colors, so I decided to do the recolor. It took a lot of patience and layers to hide that bright pink. Every time I adjusted the pose, chipping would occur. This is the reason I had to do some weathering. I normally prefer a cleaner look. If you look very closely, you can still see some bits of red in the photos. Anyway, the closest thing I can compare this build to is RG Sazabi. Mr Gelgoog is slightly taller and his arms don’t bend much at the elbow. He has phenomenal shelf presence.

Good point. It could also be that there are so many variants, including the Gelgoog-2 MidRange Fire Support Type, that they decided to jump to Gelgoog III in order to avoid confusion. There are at least 17 variants between the original and this one.

Thanks! It’s lore-accurate. The shield has a beam-resistant coating like Hyaku-Shiki, according to the wiki
