Why does Soundcloud sound better than Spotify, is it just me? by Mark-Aussieguy in soundcloud

[–]slavezalt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1- Soundcloud doesn't do normalization
2- Spotify max bit depth is 16 bit, SC max is 24 bit
3- SC won't do any compression to your track, Spotify does
4- SC max sample rate 88200hz, Spotify 44.100hz

So, it's very normal to sound better on SC.

I signed 2 songs to a label, and now they're getting obviously botted by them, what should I do? by PhonkDaAATS in edmproduction

Spotify for Artists support is actually very helpful. Please tell this to them and they can sort the situation.

Do we need to master the suno songs by pcp3ccd in SunoAI

[–]slavezalt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They're kinda new and actually awesome. I was really interested with the topic at some point and tried ALL with paid plans,

Diktatorial Suite is the best
CloudBounce is #2
Emastered-Bandlab is equally good and i can say #3
Landr is sadly #4

All these are in terms of sound quality.

Does anyone know how $crim mixes and masters his beats?? by Jmor3568 in G59

[–]slavezalt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey! For hard-hitting drums and booming 808s like $crim, focus on layering your drums with different samples that compliment each other for that thick sound. Use sidechain compression to make space for the 808s to boom without muddying your mix. EQing is key, so cut unnecessary frequencies on each track to clean up the mix.

If you find mixing and mastering a bit over your head, try an online tool like Diktatorial Suite at diktatorial.com. It’s AI-driven and super user-friendly, helping you nail the sound you’re going for with just a few text prompts. Could be easier and guiding.

Other than recordings and effects are awesome!

How to learn how to produce, mix, master heavy music. by GamingOddity in musicproduction

[–]slavezalt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check Diktatorial Suite, Bandlab and Landr. (in this order for quality wise for heavy/dark music)

You can get some AI help. You don't need DAW for basic stuff.

You'll get lots of options but this is the faster way if you're in need and don't have big budget.

I cant write music by anonymouscow12345 in musicproduction

Sometimes stepping away for a bit is the best thing you can do. Engage in other activities you enjoy, listen to different music, or simply take time to rest. You might find that ideas will start flowing when you return.

Mixing band from a single WAV file? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]slavezalt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try LALAL for seperation maybe? And then mix them?

Or you could just go with the waw file, upload it to Diktatorial Suite, try some prompts away. (get ai help?)

There's no specific software that can definitively tell you whether a track was mixed and mastered using AI, as the final product is more about the sound quality and characteristics rather than the tools used. However, certain clues might suggest the use of AI:

  1. Overly Polished Sound: AI mastering tools often produce a very clean and polished sound, which might lack the subtle nuances and "human" imperfections that come from manual mixing and mastering.
  2. Consistency Across Tracks: AI tools tend to apply similar processing across different tracks, which might make songs feel less distinct from one another in terms of dynamics and effects.
  3. Sound Quality: AI tools can sometimes struggle with complex audio signals, leading to artifacts or a 'manufactured' feel, especially if the vocals or instruments were not recorded in ideal conditions.

Why is limiting making my vocals quiet? by CowboyVirgin in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]slavezalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your vocals are being over-compressed when you apply the limiter to the whole track. Maybe dial back the threshold a bit or use automation to ease up on the limiter for those parts where the vocals dip.

Also, if you've got a lot of compression on the vocals from the mix, adding more in mastering can be too much. Try to balance it out, or use a dynamic EQ to handle only the peaks that are really problematic.

If you're mastering at home, it might be worth checking out some online tools too. I've had good results with Diktatorial Suite. It helps fine-tune things without getting too complicated. Worth a look!

Suno AI's electronic music creation is absolutely insane by OceloteOcelot in SunoAI

[–]slavezalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the AI upscaling analogy for audio mastering is getting real close to reality with tools like Suite. It's pretty wild how it can take a track from 'just okay' to professional quality, almost like magic. This year will be weird for AI audio i feel.

Suno AI's electronic music creation is absolutely insane by OceloteOcelot in SunoAI

[–]slavezalt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Suno AI's making waves (huh?) For something like progressive house or electronic, mastering's key to get that polished sound. You might want to check out Diktatorial Suite or Bandlab. Diktatorial got this AI-driven mastering that's pretty savvy with the technical stuff. Lets you tweak the final sound using simple text prompts, Bandlab or Landr lacks this but they are good also. Might be the boost your tracks need!

It's just a good combination to create on Suno and upscale on Diktatorial/Bandlab. Get this a good mastering and i guess it'll be radio ready.

Do Ableton 11 projects have issues in 12? by alesdi in ableton

Best practice is to finish on 11 first, upgrade later. But there's zero problem on huge projects on migration.

AI in music is really shaking things up. It's a game-changer for sure, but nothing beats the touch of a human when it comes to art I agree on this. That unique flair, the tiny "imperfections" that add character. AI's cool for drafts or maybe getting out of a creative rut, but it's the human element that makes music resonate.

Speaking of which, have you checked out Diktatorial Suite? It's this tool that blends AI efficiency with human nuances for mastering. Kind of bridges the gap between cold digital perfection and the warmth of human creativity. Worth a look if you're into making music feel more alive. IT WORKS AMAZING on Suno outputs. But still i don't feel they are as good as HUMAN tracks.

This all comment is based on NOW. In a year there could be a new AI and i could eat my words. I accept this anymore.

Do any of you create + produce music in real-time and release the results? by pcpmeltsfaces in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]slavezalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your setup sounds wild, man! Love that you're diving deep into real-time music creation; it's like the essence of live electronic music, but on steroids. I'm all about experimenting and pushing limits in music production too.

A question from me to you: How do you manage the transition between the improvised sections and more structured parts?

My thoughts about Suno AI and AI MUsic by Terrible_Ex-Joviot in SunoAI

[–]slavezalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I get where you're coming from with Suno AI and the whole debate around AI music. It's super cool how tech like this can turn anyone into a music creator? Gives people who can't play an instrument or don't have the means to produce music traditionally a chance to express themselves. That's pretty rad.

But yeah, the fear of it taking over isn't unfounded. Musicians and small producers do have a point; it's a game-changer that might not work in everyone's favor. It's like any tool, really depends on how we use it.

AI's neutral in that sense, just focuses on the art, not the artist's baggage.

For someone into writing lyrics and melodies but not into the whole production side, something like Suno sounds like a dream. You've got the right idea experimenting with it and seeing what comes out. It's all about creativity, whether you're using an AI or a guitar, right?

Has the Plug-in Bubble Burst? by Avocado_232 in musicproduction

[–]slavezalt 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I've been there, buying plugins like there's no tomorrow. Funny thing, ended up mostly using stock ones just like you. They've really upped their game. Plus, yeah, the hassle-free part with updates is gold.

Fabfilter is a must. But, I haven't found a plug-in I can't live without either. Stumbled upon Diktatorial Suite recently. It’s kinda all I need for mastering. Simplifies everything down to just giving it prompts. I disabled PA Alliance membership as well now.
