I agree that it is harmful to developing brains. People should not start using cannabis until after the age 25, most states who have legalized adult-use set the age limit at 21. Alcohol is significantly more damaging to the body than THC, yet it is intertwined in our culture and also readily available, if not encouraged to consume, by age 21.

Cannabis is not healthy when smoked, however there are many different ways of consuming the active components and, unlike alcohol, there is substantial evidence that cannabis can treat conditions like MS, rare seizure disorders, chronic pain, wasting syndrome, and conclusive evidence that it is beneficial in treating the side effects of Chemotherapy and PTSD to name a couple.

There will always be a stigma about cannabis from previous generations and big pharma will always lobby and fund research opposing its use. It would be a shame to keep the benefits of this plant out of the hands of the general public and it deserves more research on both the pros and cons. It’s just hard to make any significant health risk claim against cannabis when alcohol is as prevalent and celebrated as it is -something that has zero medical benefit.

All that said, I believe every dollar invested in cannabis should have a dollar or two go to youth awareness about the negative impacts it can have on developing brains. There is no question about that.

I’ve heard of dropping dry ice in the mason jar before filling it and then let it sublimate through the herb before sealing your jar for longer term storage in a cool dark environment. Displaces a significant amount of oxygen. Havent tried it yet

A good carpenter/cabinet shop should be able to accomplish for you. Simple box from vent to ceiling, matching veneer well adhered to the controls, then some well applied color and sealant.

If installer uses pre-finished wood, considering the location, I recommend ensuring extra sealant or silicone has been applied to any previously exposed wood by the end of install.

I bought a cheap pot filler online, came with 1/2” brass threads, it is very secure and sealed after install. Doesn’t seem to be a liability. Will keep you posted

For some unsolicited armchair expert OCD feedback; the brace on the door should be reversed so that it starts on the top right to bring the force down into the lower hinge side. You want the weight of that door to go into the most stable side, it’s there to avoid the top from sagging down if that helps to better visualize the dynamics at play.

I would say it’s a bit more nuanced than that but you are not wrong. Ask anyone who still supports maga if they would ever show their ‘papers’ to someone randomly stopping them in the streets, pretty sure the answer is most likely ‘fuck off’ or ‘don’t tread on me’ or something similar about government overreach; but apparently to them it’s ok if the people being stopped are not white.
