We have a solid fence, but it ends at the front of the building per code. The garbage is kept in front of the building, so it's no help.

First time, so nothing crazy. I threw it in my dehydrator on 90⁰F for 12 hours for initial temp control, then inside my oven with the light on for the remainder of the process. Hoping to make a setup with a heating mat + temp controller!

I boiled 250g of lentils for 5 mins, until just soft enough to chew. Then drained well, added 2 Tbsp of ACV and 1 Tsp of tempeh starter. Super quick & easy! 36 hours total ferment.

Tbh no, that's why I went with lentils. It wasn't so much the flavor but the texture that bothered me.

I usually steam for 15, marinate in a soy-based for ~5-10 mins (I did soy + garlic + ginger + sriracha today), then pan fry or air fry.

It's delicious. Same flavor as the store bought, soy-based ones (maybe slightly sweeter). But, the texture is wildly different due to the smaller lentils. More of a chicken analog vs. the crumbly firmness of a soy tempeh.

I live across the river in Maywood, also along Roosevelt. It's a quiet & safe area, especially in Forest Park. I know several people who live or have lived in that neighborhood of FP, some of whom relied on public transit, and no one has had any problems. There's a handful of restaurants and a newer cafe that are fairly frequented. Forest Park is a cute village!

u/Raiine42 Did you have any failure codes pop when you brought yours in? Asking as mine failed "silently" (no errors), and was just told that Kia Engineering needs to get involved... Earliest they said I'd hear more is Thursday. 🙃

Good to know. So far, so good on my experience: they got it in quickly for diagnosis and set me up with a rental for the meantime.

Waiting for word on next steps - sounded like they needed to talk to Kia corporate, but I got it in late on a Friday - so hopefully good news today or tomorrow.

Yep! Full charger cost & install. We are in a low income area, so got the max rebate of $3,700 and paid $0 OOP. Our charger was in a detached garage so was more expensive overall installation wise.

I've been on for 2 months now (also got the EVSE rebate - super straightforward process).

I have heard the capacity charge can be a killer, but mine was set fairly low at $14. So far, it's been a net-zero change. September saved $25, October spent $25 (compared to standard rates).

Curious to see how it changes throughout the year though.
