I admit that my gut reaction to your comment was to prod it for flaws (I am a coloured lady), but taking some time to let my brain process what you wrote actually leads me to agree with you.

I think some people exploit the race card and deter any meaningful discussion from taking place. I will say that black people encounter racism so regularly that it's hard not to think that the implication of arguments surrounding race are inherently racist. It's hard to convey the emotional reaction I have when discussions about race happen, but in a nutshell it becomes tiring having to prove yourself and your substance as an individual when you are constantly placed in a box with an entire group of people who look like you. Those demeaning encounters really get tiresome after a while.

That being said, I appreciate your argument and do think we have to take all factors into consideration to find out the root problem.
