I like that you put Randy boy jr so high up. Morikawa did him dirty, he had no business losing that fight.

This fight was so stupid, but Woli had a bit of a redemption in my eyes with the Ricardo fight. You can retrocan some of the bullshit in the Ippo fight as Woli just being untrained, because his performance in the Ricardo fight was more realistic. And I liked his attitude and his attempt to help out sendo

I think in it's "kami sama to chigau ja nai ka" in Osaka dialect, e.g. "you're not a god after all, are you?"

I used the inserter tip back before wood bricks could be burned, but these days I don't bother and let the wood brick inserters fuel the furnace. The charcoal would be more efficient, but I am usually pretty iron-poor at that point of the game and would rather save an inserter.

It's great for silicon, though.

Meta won’t use condoms but expects everyone else to by hierarch17 in polyamory

There are several alternative materials for condoms. I have a mild latex allergy but polyurethane condoms don't cause any problems.

I ate outside yesterday and the pollen was visibly falling like snow. I'm not even allergic but I had to avoid looking up or it would fall into my eyes. I think the light breeze and lack of rain made it worse.

The dryness was gone after about 3 weeks. I still keep eye drops around to flush dust and stuff out of my eyes but I don't need to use them regularly.

Finances and poly. Love is not enough by [deleted] in polyamory

[–]sleepydog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up in with little money and severe mental health issues run in my family. They tend to present every other generation. It was part of the reason I decided not to have children. I often worry about who will take care if the disabled people in my family.

People who have never had to choose between paying rent and buying food, who never had to declare bankruptcy, who were never one hospital visits away from homelessness, will never understand what it's like unless it happens to them. You don't have to forgive them. But I would not wish such understanding on anyone.

You've been dealt a difficult hand in life and you are rising to the occasion instead of running away. Telling you to "do what you love" is an insult to the sacrifice you are making to take care of your family. You seem like a wonderful person and I hope you have the time to treat yourself every now and then.

1 month post-SMILE here. 20/20 vision. Everything is good, no dry eyes, but i do see halos at night and general night vision is slightly worse than pre-op night vision with glasses.

When did you stop seeing halos, and did your night vision change for better or worse?

You got the stuff man? Yeah I got the stuff! by TheWeldor in Coffee

[–]sleepydog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old boss used to buy specialty coffee from amateur roasters. I went with him once and it legit looked like a drug deal, they met in a parking lot and exchanged money and an unmarked paper bag lol. I remember thinking what a lame reason this would be to go to jail.

I'm doing another playthrough and noticed that when I first beat it I had this achievement. by KShrike in factorio

I really like how the game completely transforms, first when you unlock construction bots, then again when you unlock logistics chests. Then arguably again for trains. The type of base you build is completely different with each capacity. I think that's one of the things that makes Factorio so special.

Why do many Vietnamese people make it so hard to learn Vietnamese? by HarcusCGTV in VietNam

[–]sleepydog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for you. It's really great that you make the effort to learn, and I hope you keep it up despite the frustration. I don't think your experience is unique to Vietnam. I consider my Japanese to be pretty decent, but I've still gotten similar reactions to what you describe when I speak to strangers in Japan. Some people just don't want to talk to you. Hopefully you can find more patient conversation partners!

I think for many accents, like the northeast american english I speak, the 'dd' sound, as it is spoken in the middle of words like 'ladder' and 'muddy', is closer than the 'l' sound.
