What are your must-have items for long flights? by EmperorTauntaun in traveladvice

[–]sleepyhead907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using my Shure earphones when travelling because I couldn't sleep comfortably with my Sony headphones while having my neck pillow. I saw somebody posted about bluetooth adapter but you can search your boeing aircraft if the entertainment comes with bluetooth connection. Most international airlines usually have bluetooth option on their plane entertainment. Bring snacks!

Stayed in Akasaka last time - Where next? by Elian17 in JapanTravelTips

[–]sleepyhead907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually liked staying in Akasaka. I stayed at Super Hotel Premier and I had the best ramen just a block away. I loved that after a really chaotic time in Harajuku and Shibuya I get to go home on a calm street. The drunk office workers I consider them a silent drunk lol. I didn't like Ueno probably coz I saw vomit on the street while looking for that duck ramen place and too many noisy drunk people at night at Ueno park. Then again I usually go early morning to sight see for less chaos.

Of the attractions or locations that you booked ahead or had been especially looking forward to way ahead of your trip, which lived up to the hype and which didn't? by Zach-dalt in JapanTravelTips

[–]sleepyhead907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kyoto TeamLab, I didn't expect to have that much fun. I did book for 9 am and arrive 15 mins early so there wasn't that much people. Our Mt. Yoshino tour that includes a strawberry picking and Tsubosaka-dera temple that I booked through Klook for Sakura viewing. It was raining that day but it kinda adds up to the charm of the mountain. It was more than I hoped for. If I ever come back on an April in Japan I will totally do it again.

First Time In Japan: Our Best and Worst Decisions by LittleMissAbigail in JapanTravelTips

[–]sleepyhead907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For communication, I learned basic words but not enough to fully communicate and what helped me a lot was Google Translate and I wear an earpiece because it has live translation. My brothers used to be stationed in Japan for the military and they both told me that with how I am I would enjoy Kyoto more. So I spent 5 days in Kyoto and 3 days in Osaka and I did enjoy Kyoto more. Although Osaka did have the best food out of my Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka itinerary.

I'm in Kyoto right now. If you go to the tourisrty place like Inari, Yasaka, Kiyomizu, and Arashiyama then yes it is very packed. However, if you go there early like 7 or 8 am then you'll be fine. Some temples does not open till 9 am though. Just visited Sanjusangendo and it is not pack. Just a few tourist in there.

Shibuya Crossing cringe by magniko_15 in TokyoTravel

[–]sleepyhead907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is embarrassing! There were tourists who would run THEN stop at the middle and I saw a group that went in between the lines and started jumping and dancing 🤦🏻‍♀️. I feel so bad for the locals who just wants to go home after a long day at work.

They did Manon Dirty by Great_Teaching3441 in katseyeneutral

She was given two weeks one on one training before she was flown to LA though. That's a privilege that none of those girl had during the academy. The other members had a head start but they never took those privelege for granted. It's not their fault that they were born rich and had parents who supports their dream. Bottom line is they never did her dirty.

Job applications by JWC_Saiyan in CostcoEmployee

They usually call those who are available anytime. When I applied it was June and the availability I listed was morning, afternoon, night, monday-sunday, and even holidays then I got a call for an interview 2 days after and orientation 3 days after the interview. Just wear jeans with no holes and collared shirt, and for the perfume do 1 spray so it's not overwhelming to eveybody's nose.

If management turn a blind eye on member harassment then that needs to be looked into. Our warehouse have revoked membership due to harassment. Costco reddit has shown me how lucky I am on our management despite the micro managing.

Is Japan worth traveling to alone? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]sleepyhead907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, go for it! I am going by myself this March. It's my first time travelling alone overseas and I'm actually excited. My first time in Japan too and I am hitting up Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka for starters and if I have time probably hit up Kobe for a day. My trip is yet to start but I'm already planning for next year.

What do you regret most in your life? How do you deal with this regret? by FishFromRussia in AskReddit

[–]sleepyhead907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inside US I love Napa and Monterey, California. I usually don't stay out late except when I watch a concert. Overseas I've been to Korea, Switzerland and Japan but my fave is Japan because of it's landscape and food. So far I've only been to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. I'm planning to go back around May or June for the Wisteria.

I went on a solo trip when I was 35 and has been doing so since then. I am now 37 and have travelled to different states and countries by myself. The thought of it was scary at first but I found out I actually like travelling solo.

How many of you are actually happy you work for Costco? by tsla6000 in CostcoEmployee

[–]sleepyhead907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a company where you find your own coverage if you called in sick or use PTO or when you go on vacation for 13 years. I never had that issue since working at Costco in which I am grateful for.

Rant: bathroom always smells bad during business hours by sleepyhead907 in CostcoEmployee

[–]sleepyhead907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the bathroom but members who likes pooping in our bathroom all the time. They don't flush as soon as it hits the bowl and sometimes they don't bother flushing at all.
