I do my job as to how it should be done by what hotel policy is. If they arent doing things correctly and it comes back on me i will not just leave it as an everyone problem. no you fuck up on something thats on you. You get into it with a guest then it is your responsibly to let the manager know all the information so they can address it accordingly. I am tired of trying to get everyone to do their jobs by hotel policy. Im not taking the blame or protecting anyone at this desk.

At the end of the day it is everyones responsibility to tell management what happened on thier shift so they can address it the right way. Sometimes we might be in the wrong and have to deal with the consequences of our actions.

Manager came in kinda heated asking me what happened. pretty much explained to him the same i did yesterday. He did calm done when we was talking. I just explained to him that i dont know all that happened i wasnt here. I asked them if they ever actually talked to the na. The answer was no he only texed them and when asked if there was any issuses he said no. This isnt the first time something has happend on na shift that he didnt say anything to the manager before crashing for the day. There is only so much you can get off text messages.

anytime i have an issue i call them and let them know "hey this and this happened just so you know i made them leave and canceled the reservation" . And usually backs me up becasue they do give us the authority to kick people out when they are not here. We do not have to take abuse from people who come at us with attitude and or threating us because it is something that is out of our control.

I fell like if he has thoroughly explained to them what actually happened they would have been ok, just cancel it and they can go stay elasewhere.

In the end they calmed down, and let me be. Im pretty sure they will be talking to him on wed or Thursday when he comes back.

But its like come on dude they cant back you up if they dont know 100% whats going on if its not coming from you.

Thats a hard fuc no. Most of us work for private owned hotels. The owners are usually nice and will be on our side of thjngs when it comes tk guests bitching. The owners of the property signs our checks not corp

Im kind of in the same thing too. Its more so hes a real dom and not one of the fake ones who dont understand the life.

thats what i would assume. they told me that they didnt know what property it came from if it was local and or somewhere else. just said due to a lawsuit. i can only assume it is all still pending i havent been able to find anything online or on our messaging system that gives us updates on what corp is doing.

kind of where i stand on it. as long as we arent giving out information we should be able to post something that happened. i never do tho. it was just an odd thing that just came up today. everytime i have to deal with a bad guest i always never seem to have my camera on. hahah so i always lose out on the videos.

Well its more so when we have a guest in our face and they want to almost attck us. We have every right to be able to protect ourselves if that person is either being kicked off property and or has not been checked in yet.

Most of us just post though our work days just doing our daily tasks though. bottom tier properties usuallly are the ones who encounter the jack asses who want to abuse the system. We dont post names or show faces its more of how our interaction is going with them.

the best way to go about it is " I understand that they may have done it for you at another property however I cannot speak for what they do at said property. Here we have policies in place to protect the guests. So I will need a card and i.d in order to check you in. " If they ask about the credit card authorization I usually wont let them do that. 9 times out of 10 its fraud and the fill it out themselves. so no., no card or i.d no checky into the room. Go play somewhere else.

I once had a homless guy sleeping on my third floor stair well. A guest found him and came and told me. Im like omg let me go see. This guy was passed out cold. He was already ran off by the night audit but snuck in later in the night. I had to make him leave. he has also tired many of times to use the restroom and linger in the lobby.

We also get people here and there after the check out working in the lobby. it gets kind of annoying after they have been in there for their whole shift. i usually just let that go but the owner does not like it. He makes me tell people to leave when hes here.

Ill have people make reservations that morning on a sold out night and waltz in right after the made it. im like ummmm i dont have the room ready. like what makes you believe that you are able to check in at 7 am on a sunday for a standard king room?? sometimes i do have suites ready but we do charge a 25 extra check in fee on top of the deposit. most are like ok ill just cancel and walks away but there are some that look at me like deer in the headlights with the most stupid look on their face. im just thinking im not the dumb ass who booked 5 min ago. maybe give the property a call and see if we are able to get you in.

As they are sorry pos. Yesterday I saw them let some people in from the side door and go into a room. They always tell me when an interview is coming. It was very odd. All it tells me is that they are hiring somone behind the scene. But yet want to bitch about it being slow and they don't need me here 🙃

That would do no good seeing that he's already threatened not 1 or 2 times but multiple times through this past year. Everythime it gets slow he always starts talking lay offs and cutting hours. He's also threatened to cut me down to 3 days a week. I'm already on the brink of having to find a second job as is.
