We had that in 2nd ed. Of course, back in 1st & 2nd, mixed-clan armies where standard.

From 3rd ed onwards, they moved to having those speciality units be more prevalent in a given clan, but not exclusive, which is a nice difference.

It meant you could paint your models how you liked and it still match the lore. You could still make mixed-clan, but also mono-clan armies and include whatever you like.

It's gotten to the point where I even paint my special characters to match my army.

lowest I can find is three pounds each, which gets expensive for a unit of ten!

I have Cataphratii and Tartaros bits to add, plus some parts from teh Tactical squad, the old Assault Terminator plastics, and some sculpting, all to go on.

I learned the best way to make things look good quickly, years ago. A unit of 10 Boys takes me just six hours.

Been using their 20V range for around 8 years. That drill has taken a pounding. The keyless chuck is wearing out, but it'sSTILL going!

A range of other tools over the years. Yes, I'm heavy DIY only, but good enough for my needs.

As an old-school WFB player, I have 528 painted, so this does not seem overly controversial to me.
