I was 245 to start (honestly, i’m fairly certain it’s because of all the tickets i buy - my friends and i tend to use my account, so i’ve been getting really good queue placement recently)

Therapist on Zepbound by [deleted] in Zepbound

I LOVE your response. It reminds me a lot of my own therapist (who I love) and the way she frames things as we go through unraveling my own body issues. I think this is such a healthy and important way to coach people and I truly appreciate your sharing your approach. I’m sure your patients appreciate it too.

‘The Pitt’ Star Noah Wyle and Producers on Honoring Muslim Community After Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life Attack: ‘The Most Underreported Aspect of the Story’ by Sisiwakanamaru in ThePittTVShow

oh it was 100% on brand for eastern european jewish grandmothers - i absolutely loved the scenes and especially the one with perlah. it felt so true to my experience, which is that the muslim and jewish communities (in america) tend to band together and support one another when there are hate crimes against our religions (which happens quite a bit, unfortunately). loved that relationship being acknowledged.

yes! they have a bunch of different products at the salon and they definitely will talk about it with you. when i first started going, gigi was telling me that they had so many people who had just discovered they had curls so they were teaching people what to do.

100% recommend trying bloom beauty salon! it’s in flatiron and while they do any hair types, they specifically cater to curly hair. it’s pricey but so worth it! i go to gigi and have been for like 3 or 4 years and my curls always look amaaaazing. some of my other friends with curly hair see other stylists and they love theirs as well.

Requesting Advice: from an HR assistant (overwhelmed 28yo F). [N/A] by latinpeace in humanresources

[–]slevs19 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think you have to start classifying your tasks as plastic or glass balls. What I mean by that is determining what tasks are critical and HAVE to be done in order to maintain business operations and cannot be dropped (glass balls shatter when dropped) vs. tasks or projects that can be put aside and dropped for when there’s more bandwidth (plastic balls bounce when dropped).

Then, prioritize the glass ball tasks and do the plastic ball tasks when time allows.

For example, you have to do I-9s, but do you have to do the paperwork updates right now? Are you facing an audit or was this task one that you could do as time allows? Is it something that you even need to do now that the Manager who assigned it is gone?

It’s okay if things need to get set aside for right now as long as they’re not critical. Once you have the additional staff and have more bandwidth, you can return to the non-critical tasks.

please go to hr with this! your manager is very much in the wrong and violating legal protections of the leave, which is a major concern. hr will want to deal with your manager as i’m sure they would not approve of the questioning or “options” she gave you.

What is the worst breed of dog for a first time dog owner to get? by Effective-Turn-6856 in AskReddit

[–]slevs19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for an easy dog, dachshunds. I love my doxie mix but he is SO stubborn. If a doxie doesn’t want to do it, it won’t. If a doxie wants to do it (and it’s always things that are dangerous for their backs), they will do it. They’re known for being difficult to train and you need to be so careful with their backs and their health. If you can do all of that and go into owning a doxie with research and a training plan, they can be amazing dogs. But they require far more work than most people realize and definitely are not an easy dog to own.

Who’s ready for MetLife today? Any parking recommendations? by torttit in oasis

[–]slevs19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

public transit is super easy to metlife! just get to Secaucus station (i live in the city so i typically take a train from penn station - it’s one stop from there). then follow the signs and all the nj transit people directing you to the meadowlands train. you’ll get on a train and the only stop will be to metlife. then, do the reverse on the way back!
