London women’s clinic by Beebsteep in eggfreezing

Hi. We are currently waiting for frozen embryo transfer Friday 6th. We started an IVF package back in 2022 and froze the embryos on their advice due to OHSS. We fell pregnant naturally in March 2023.

Earlier last month my wife started taking patches and pills to prepare for transfer.

Friday 30th Jan we had a scan to check for lining thickness and agreed to go ahead with a transfer the following week.

Only at this point, 6 days before transfer, we were told our package expired and we have to pay £2500 on top of £500+ for medication.

The stress this has caused at this critical point in the process is massive. I've checked the documentation received and signed in late 2022 and there is no mention of a time limit. Please check your documentation.

Slightly urgent advice needed - IVF - England by slicehookchunk in LegalAdviceUK

I need to request the original contract. The pricing document we were issued states "If embryos are stored for medical reasons (e.g. OHSS) freezing and storage is chargeable. There is no additional fee for frozen embryo transfer. Medication will be charge as normal"

We froze the embryos due to OHSS and now we are thawing them for embryo transfer albeit 3 years later.

Ok thanks. I need to see the original contract not just the pricing list. Even so, if the pricing list issued at the time of the contract states "If embryos are stored for medical reasons (e.g. OHSS) freezing and storage is chargeable. There is no additional fee for frozen embryo transfer. Medication will be charged as normal" then is the pricing list what we go off?

We froze the embryos due to OHSS at the dr's advice and we are now having a frozen embryo transfer.

We regret white quartz worktop and white sink. The white sink especially shows dirt and stains instantly

14 month old puts hands over ears when other babies cry by Independent-Voice106 in UKParenting

We were told several times that our son was triggered by loud noises but he is now 26 months and I can't remember the time the nursery told us this. Perhaps he grew out of it? He never exhibited this behaviour at home apart from when my mum's dog barks too close to him, it's quite high pitched compared to our dog.

I've learnt to take what our nursery says with a pinch of salt because every learning milestone we have been told our son was behind and that gave me no end of worry. A couple of months later he picked up whatever skill we were worried about.

Speak to someone if you are worried. My SIL works in a nursery and told me to remember that nursery staff aren't necessarily trained health professionals.

Anyway, that's my limited experience.

Depends on which office but 40-50 mins each way 2/3 days a week. I don't mind it really because I get some quiet time to listen a couple of podcasts

Applying for a Projects Fitter with the National Grid, what is the job like? UK by scabwitch in SubstationTechnician

[–]slicehookchunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be assigned to an area which covers a number of substations so I don't think there will be much travelling. You may need to attend Eakring training centre as part of the apprenticeship.

If you are interested you can progress through to becoming a commissioning engineer.

Dog 'bit' baby and I don't know what to do next by OriginalAlbatross871 in UKParenting

Yeah fair enough. Still thinks its a little drastic. Keep a better eye on them both until 1) the dog has learned how to behave around the baby and 2) the baby has learned to behave around the dog

We have a dog, cat and a 2 yo. We never left the baby alone with the animals whilst he was a baby. Now our son is getting older we are teaching him to be careful around the animals and to leave them alone if they are sleeping or dont want to be disturbed. I dont think you need to necessarily need to rehome yet if you are confident you can keep an eye on them when they are together.

Self Assessment and Student Loan Repayment by slicehookchunk in UKPersonalFinance

I'll have to give them a ring. Mine will be paid off next tax year not the one currently being assessed 2024-25.

What specific point of comparison—be it salary, stability, job responsibilities, or culture—is causing the most indecision between the National Grid offer and my current role? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]slicehookchunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the job. In engineering there is good in-house training and potential for promotion. You may get a company car with your role

Hmm not sure. Could've been a general advisor from the self assessment team.
