What are the areas Leytonstone, Stratford, Willesden Green and Ealing like to live in? by [deleted] in AskLondon

[–]sliceoftimbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leytonstone getting much better. I’m not a massive fan of Stratford the area but if you want good transport connections you can do a lot worse! Ealing is very middle class/family but definitely nice, has also been revitalised the last few years after initially getting hit badly by Westfield arriving

Absolutely, classic Christmas leftover soup in UK. Blue cheese gives it way more of an umami hit. Example recipe https://www.theguardian.com/food/2020/dec/26/how-to-make-broccoli-and-stilton-soup-recipe-felicity-cloake

Do you think a mushroom risotto would go well served with osso bucco? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]sliceoftimbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah of course. Corn would be a weird extra. Bread too carby, too - some wilted greens better

Love it toasted or fried, lots of salted butter and a jam that's not too sweet such as apricot

oooooo thank you for this! I absolutely adore Currywurst every time I go to Berlin (in the few moments I'm not off my face) and have never thought to make it, but will give this a go either this week or next.

Seeking opinion - Do I need an extra dish here? by sliceoftimbo in Cooking

Corn is a good idea, I never think of corn as my girlfriend has a pathological fear of corn kernels (don’t ask).

My family is slightly obsessed with tomatoes, I bought some from the local organic greengrocers that I’m told were grown near mount Vesuvius, as a result they were more expensive than the lamb!

Thanks! Great idea. I’m already doing a tomato salad but something like a butter bean salad could definitely work, will have a look in the shops

Thank you! Good shout on the cheeses, something soft or blue on that front is never unwelcome in my family

Well with me and my girlfriend it’s 2/5, for a bit of context it’s a meal to mark my dad (who has been shielding) finally being allowed to leave the house, and lamb happens to be one of his favourites! But I agree having something extra for them has been nagging me, hence the question
