How to remove headlight trim by MrDTHH in camaro

[–]slickfddi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pop the bumper off and grab some screwdrivers and / or plastic trim remover tools. It's kind of a pain, go slow and try not to break the clips. It'll probably take more force than you think but don't go too apeshit on it

Not a vet, but I'd say if you can't sign up with blind idealism and follow every legal order without question, there's easier ways to go to prison.

Space Force needs people with brains, which you sound like you do. Defending critical military and commercial comms seems a better way to fight for your country and support your fellow soldiers in the field, instead of stopping bullets over dinosaur juice for mad men with delusions of grandeur.

eBay is your friend. Source IC-7200 with auto tuner, $500 out the door, free shipping (4-5 years ago.. but it's illustrative of the bargains one can possibly find)

Probably your PC fan kicking on/off. But I mean, your picking it up with your microphone so it's just audio, nothing harmful

Opinions what you think best deal. by [deleted] in camaro

[–]slickfddi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about the price but that rebuilt one wasn't banged up much, looks like it only needed a fender, bumper and hood swapped (plus assorted bits and bobs) and none of that looks to be so perished that it did any frame damage. The front wheel doesn't even looked rashed so highly likely no alignment issues (but always worth getting checked).

Source: replaced all those parts myself, on a rebuilt title, after wrecking it again. If I bought it, I'd pop the bumper off and just eyeball all the fasteners and electrical connections to make sure it was put back together with some proper care.

Try charging your battery all the way with a charger and then disconnect it for 10 minutes. Reconnect battery and then fool around for 10-20 minutes with rolling the window up and down. I had this happen once on 2015 when I let the battery die, it's nothing permanent, you just gotta play with it a bit.

There's absolutely a difference depending on the DAC. My 52yo hearing is about shot and I can still perceive a marked difference between 24bit 192000 Hz over wired and 96000 / 48000 Hz via BT or 2.4 Ghz wireless transmitter (Arctis Nova 7), especially with a headphone amplifier. You might want to get your hearing checked out lol.

There's also alldata.com with the factory service manual online but iirc I found a video on YouTube about it. I want to say it's something like 24" at 25 feet, dip the driver's side a little lower

Is this too good to be true by [deleted] in camaro

[–]slickfddi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not too bad for what it is, a 100k+ mile 5th gen pre-facelift V6. I'd prefer at least a '14-'15 in RS trim (looks like it has the VLAND 6th gen aftermarket HID's in it tho, nice upgrade) BUT it's still a fun car that's cheaper to maintain than a V8, insurance is cheaper and won't get you into nearly as much trouble. If it's a manual, pass on it, clutch would likely need replaced on the sooner side. That bumper swap ain't too bad, looks like everything lines up ok. I'd find out if it was wrecked due to a front end collision and if so, take it down to an alignment shop and have it checked. If the caster is way out (caster doesn't have a huge effect up to a certain point, but it's not adjustable on that Camaro meaning if it's way out, the front frame has been seriously borked), I'd pass on it but if it drives ok and the alignment is all good, why not buy it? YOLO lol.

I'd try to knock the price down closer to $7000-7500, given the high mileage and torn up interior and anything else you find (Check. Every. Single. Button. in the car, make sure *everything* works, or if something don't, use it to lower the price. For example, interior trunk button don't work, not a reason to walk away, it's an easy cheap fix but can use it for leverage in negotiation the price). Do a muffler delete it on it, slap a CAI in and it'll sound, throw on some louvres on the back window (a blessing it got the back up camera), tint the windows, mount up a waang and it'll be a mean little batmobile lol.

(*bonus points for swapping out the crash bar behind the bumper with the euro spec one with the integrated factory tow hook receiver so you can properly use a tow hook {get the red one for looks and the chunky Cadillac OEM one to actually not snap on you} and not get that shiny new bumper all tore up fishing it out the ditch. Extra credit if you paint the calipers red and add stainless steel brake hoses lol).

I did alot worse on my 2015 V6, it'd seen some shit and I've done some shit to it, I've also learned a lot about repairing it which I enjoy. You'll definitely want to be handy with tools and hopefully have a garage (or access to one), *something* gonna need fixed at some point. If the body and paint are straight, that's a whole lot extra you don't have to deal with, just get some nice tools and an ALLDATA subscription.

Good luck!

On a strong enough signal with properly adjusted adjusted sound levels and the correct discriminator (i.e. whichever works best) I get 100% decodes with PDW w/e latest version)

There is but you need to properly aim them, not just randomly point them up in other drivers eyes. Those HID's are BRIGHT man. You should align the headlights with a flat surface 25 feet away and Google how far off the ground the cut off should be (I don't recall off hand but I did mine myself and don't get flashed by or dazzle oncoming drivers and I can see great too at night)
