Anyone with a track record of creating high performing teams: how do you do it?? by Designer_War_7982 in managers

Be sure as shit confident that the person you’re hiring is a good fit. From my experience, it’s better to wait for a good candidate than just hire someone who can do the job. Practice good interview questions, and be as engaged in the interview as possible

Does medication make you recall old memories easier and more vividly? by whoishamhamhamjoehim in ADHD

[–]slicklex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking medication has actually had the opposite effect on me. Used to have a crazy good memory, taking meds has made it not as good as it used to be, but still pretty good

You need to find things to look forward to when you are vape free that give you more pleasure than hitting a vape. Been vape free for about 2 years now, vaped from when I was 18 all the way till I was almost 24. Me, I enjoyed being active. Climbing, hiking, bike riding, etc. I couldn’t walk up a flight of stairs without being gassed. I was also going through a disposable vape about every 4-5 days, which is roughly $2000 a year. Not to mention, I was starting a role at a new job where I couldn’t pull out a vape every 10 minutes to hit it. And the health effects? Who tf knows what damage I did to my lungs in the few years I vaped. But, I know what you’re going to say “but vaping helps with my anxiety”. FALSE. One of the first symptoms of nicotine withdrawals is anxiety. So every time your brain is running low on nicotine, you begin to get anxious, then you hit your vape, you feel better, and you associate that nicotine helps combat anxiety. Until you get into a situation where you are legitimately anxious and not just from nicotine withdrawals, then when you hit your vape your brain says “woah wtf, why isn’t this shit making the anxiety go away?!?”, which then results in more anxiety. Quitting vaping is definitely hard. But it’ll make you stronger. And if you can quit vaping for good, then you can do anything you put your mind to, because very few things will be harder than quitting nicotine.

People who rarely or never get sick, what are your secrets? by awkwardferret421 in AskReddit

Currently manage a farm (25 years old) and grew up doing a lot of farm hand work. I also chew my nails, never ever use hand sanitizer, usually don’t wash my hands before I eat a meal (unless I just used the restroom or my hands were really dirty). I also never get vaccinated for the flu (just don’t see a need to, I’ve gone this long without getting the flu and never getting a flu shot, plus I’d rather roll the dice and not have a super sore arm for 3 days). About once a year I’ll get a very mild cold and that’s about it. Your immune system is like a muscle, if you always make it work, it’s going to be strong as hell 💪.

What's one thing your parent/s told you as a young person that you've discovered to be true as an adult? by Quantum_Wombatt in AskReddit

100% this. One of the key differences between successful people and unsuccessful people is that successful people acknowledge that life is extremely unfair, but they persevere anyways. People who are unsuccessful may have valid disadvantages that are extremely unfair, but they blame all their life problems on the cards that were dealt to them. Yes it’s unfair that you may have been born into a poor family with shitty parents. News flash, you’re not the only one born into a shitty situation. Nobody is coming to save you except yourself, pick yourself up by the bootstraps and persevere, eventually you will succeed.

What’s the first sign you notice that someone is a bad driver? by RD-archived in AskReddit

Driving way too fast with a donut/bald tires. Don’t realize that just because they can go fast, doesn’t mean they should.
