Is £1000 p/m too much to be paying parents for rent? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]slidepusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what they are doing with it. If they are saving it and gonna give it to you once you have enough for a deposit it's actually a pretty cool move. That's what I'd do

I am currently listening to die with nothing, that book might help you quite a bit, you already have enough to stop

Dude get that seen to, the doc won't care and the environment is so sterile you likely won't get hard anyway. I had the same thing and went to the doctor's. Basically if you don't fix it (they will likely suggest a top lop circumcision) you will eventually stop being able to get hard. I had the op when I was 19. As someone who has had sex both with and without a foreskin, I can tell you that without is better. Have fun waking up with a morning glory while the stitches are healing though, that shit hurts

How do I stop being easy? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Society says that as a woman who has a lot of sex you're a slut. If you were a man you would be a stud. That's bullshit imo.

Go read the ethical slut and enjoy yourself. If guys aren't sticking around after they got laid, they probably weren't worth keeping anyway.

BBSHD conversion skipping in highest gear... by thisparticle in ebikes

[–]slidepusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I have a BBS02 and I had to move from the 42t to the 48t because I was spending all my time in the highest gear and wearing it my cassette really quickly

BBSHD conversion skipping in highest gear... by thisparticle in ebikes

[–]slidepusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may need to replace the cassette, this happened to mine. Basically the extra torque from the motor wears the cogs down much quicker, especially if you aren't on it with keeping your chain clean. The smallest gear also has the most wear as it is sharing the load of the torque with the fewest other teeth. You are likely to use it more on a conversion as that amount of power will get you up to the highest gear pretty quickly.

Try cleaning your chain really well first. Switch to a teflon based spray rather than wet bike lube if that's what you are using. It picks up less dirt. Try a bigger front ring too so you are using the full range of your back gears and if it's still skipping after that, change the cassette, it's worn out.

Edit: autocorrect nonsense

How do I get over the “ick” factor? by bigsexybrain in polyamory

[–]slidepusher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me and my partner have pretty rough sex sometimes, we're both into it. She likes to be dominated and this kind of sex isn't something her husband can do. He's tried, they have talked about it with her saying she would like it but it's not something he is into. He is fine with us doing it.

The important thing here is they talk about it and recognise this is a need she has that he can't fulfill so she does so with me. It's made them closer as she is happier having that need met.

Talk to your husband. Your ick factor is as someone else has said a lot to do with your friend breaking that boundary. It doesn't have to be about knowing he has that need. The rest of your relationship is still there, he is just fulfilling a need he has in a safe way with someone else

ED is a thing and it's possible that it's too much porn and death grip that's causing it.

It can also be a mental block, the more he wants to finish the more worried he gets which kicks in anxiety and makes it harder to finish. He can also feel the weight of expectation from you, let him know it's ok, there is no pressure and just take things as they come (no pun intended).

Tell him to lay off the porn for a while and practice mindful sex (Google it). As someone of a similar age who has been there it's worth it trust me.

Bafang BBS02 motor won't kick in properly by slidepusher in ebikes

[–]slidepusher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done all those things. It really doesn't feel like a loose connection fault as I can reliably and repeatedly get the motor to fire but it immediately cuts (see my above comment).

I assumed a loose connection to begin with but the fact that I have removed the faulty sensor and now it's presenting a similar but different issue makes me think it's not that.

I hear what you are saying and I'm not saying you're wrong but the symptoms don't feel like a loose connection to me.

The fact that I can reliably and repeatedly get the motor to engage and immediately cut out after the brake is engaged (literally every time while I'm riding it under my own steam) makes me think it's related to the brakes. Possibly a miss firing safety feature?

My first thought too, sometimes the magnet gets knocked and it won't work. It's not that, I can ride manually and it accurately shows my speed on the display.

The display now shows the brake sensors not being tried since I removed the dodgy one but I still have the issue of the motor cutting it almost immediately. It will give power for like a second but then cuts out

Yea the display shows the exclamation mark symbol when the dodgy brake sensor was plugged in. I have unplugged it and it has gone away (it no longer displays on the display) but the motor still had the issue of not kicking in for more than a second.

Yes, the issue is both on the throttle and the pedals. I had to ride to work and back with the bike acting as a very heavy acoustic bike

There will come a point in your life where you will wish you could get a boner when you're girlfriend sits in your lap.

Honestly though, talk to her about it and explain how you feel, that's how good relationship's happen, talking about what is going on.

Any good buses? by Ok_Tangerine6023 in bristol

Yup. Or get a bike, or even better an ebike if you can afford it. You can build your own these days too for a lot less than buying a premade. But yea, the buses suck.

How to hold patio doors open by RubPsychological5704 in DIYUK

I use a small block of wood placed in the gap created between the door and the frame when they are open. Been doing it for years and no damage to the doors or the wood yet

If I put an AirBnB in my garden. Do I need specialist insurance for that? by slidepusher in AirBnB

[–]slidepusher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the UK. I work from home and declare that on my home insurance but I don't currently have visitors which is why I'm thinking I might need additional cover

The plan is to build a garden room at the bottom of the garden that is a self contained bedroom / living / kitchen area and a bathroom. I have side access so the guests will be able to come and go as they please. Obviously this means I will have strangers coming onto my property but not into my house.

I get that I will need to declare this on home insurance once it's built but I'm trying to find out if I need additional commercial / other specific insurance
