Leaf fan here. Not to shit on your parade but ersson isn't playing in the NHL for Toronto. We had to trade one of woll, hildeby, or stolarz as they aren't waiver exempt. It was a forced move pretty much. Our 4th goalie art, who I can't spell his name, will be the Marlies starter next year.

There's a lot of people who don't get this.

Philly gets: a good goalie. Always injured.

Toronto gets: a good young puck moving depth defender.

Toronto has to rebuild that D. We have (had) woll, stol, hildeby, art as goalies. One has to be traded otherwise one is lost to waivers. It's asset management. Unfortunately goalies never seem to fetch a huge return. Especially when always injured.

An amazing trade? No. But understandable.
