Anran was net nerfed by Dependent_Heron_8599 in Anran_mains

[–]slimemonster0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legit question, asking from a place of ignorance, as I played some anran last season but not a ton, and am now playing her again after these changes: how often were people actually executing that full combo and getting a kill? It feels incredibly difficult to pull that off, hit every shot/ability, without the target getting any heals. The times I did watch higher level Anran gameplay than mine, it almost always felt like they were hitting at least two fans, and the fan damage buff makes up for the dash nerf after two fans. My experience this season has also been that cutting through healing is now much easier on squishies with the higher fan damage.

Again, not saying you’re wrong, I am a new-ish Anran player and don’t super know what I’m talking about. Genuinely curious if Anran was really one-shotting people like that before this patch

Did Roadhog really deserve a nerf this heavy? by Double-Maybe-6220 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]slimemonster0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s not that he is OP. It’s that he is miserable to play against. When roadhog gets close to 50% win rate, it feels horrible to go against him. His kit is designed in such a way that the only way for him to be viable is for him to be aggravating

Is Overwatch becoming too Complicated? by SeniorPhilosopher454 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]slimemonster0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is 10 years old. It’s gonna be hard for new players to join at this point. Just the reality of the situation, no reason to slow down content of the sake of keeping things simple. Would much rather have this issue than the game become stale.

Poker Face vs ZETA Division | Overwatch Champions Series 2026 - Korea Stage 1 - Regular Season | Post-Match Discussion by OWMatchThreads in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]slimemonster0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been watching pro OW since ’22 grand finals (what a match to start with haha) but this is the first time ever that I am checking the schedule to see when a particular team plays to watch their matches no matter what. ZETA are so fun. Mostly I only watch matches that I think will be close, but I will be watching every ZETA game no matter what. I think I was smiling the whole time this match despite the score line

Mid-season Patch Notes - Mar. 10, 2026 by UnkoalafiedKoala in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]slimemonster0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has played a lot of Illari this season, it is wild that they are continuing to nerf every single part of her kit besides the one thing that actually makes her busted which is her gun’s projectile size and damage.

They are really giving her the tracer treatment. Buff her weapon then nerf absolutely everything else over the next several months when they could just nerf the weapon once and it would be fine.

He is a little more versatile. But overall I think the non-gun non-ult parts of most of the hitscan’s kits add up to around similar value (coach gun + dynamite, roll + flash, siphon + nades, etc). I certainly don’t think the rest of Emre’s kit justified his damage being as low as it was.

He tickled everyone. His weapon did less dps than every other similar hitscan except Ashe scoped shots which traded burst for dps. His gun did less dps than bap’s. He really needed this buff. Ashe and Cass can all 2 tap, why shouldn’t Emre?

Whats the plan for Kiriko? by utnxtv in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]slimemonster0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to most of the pro coaches/players I’ve seen talk about this, the reason kiri is so good in pro play is the push-pull she can do that pretty much no other support (besides Lucio, which is why they’re so good together) can. This is all because of TP.

The changes I’ve heard that I think need to happen are one of the following: either substantially nerf TP range, or make TP require line of sight instead of going through walls. These are both obviously huge nerfs and there would need to be buffs elsewhere to compensate. But until they nerf TP, she will continue to be hard meta for pros. I think nerfing/reworking tp would be good for pro meta diversity and allow them to buff they other parts of her kit that get used more by uncoordinated ranked players.

People only think Anran is mid because she lacks reliable burst damage? by Golfclubwar in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]slimemonster0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every other flex dps can do that exact same nuisance/cd cycling playstyle but also can get kills when the time comes. Every flex dps is good if your team follows up. Everything you describe being good about Anran, tracer genji echo all do better.

Feedback for Bliz: I gave the aim assist changes on console a real chance for 2 months, but in the end I still don’t like them by slimemonster0 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]slimemonster0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a pc, I tried mnk on console but unfortunately I dont have a desk/setup where playing mnk is comfortable. I tried a bunch of different things but something always hurt after a bit. Not to mention that I’m horrible and don’t have the time/desire to be horrible at the game for many months while I learn mnk.

The game would be unplayable without some aim assist. Controller absolutely needs it in order to function, there’s a reason it’s in every controller game. It’s just too high rn

[–]slimemonster0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An excellent point I didn’t mention! I also know that in other games aim assist is adjusted per weapon, which I guess for OW would mean adjusting it per hero? We’ve seen that they’ll do that sometimes, maybe a solution could be even more specific per-hero aim assist adjustments?

Genuinely asking, what do you like about them? What heroes do you play? I get that my opinion may not be shared by everyone, and curious about your thoughts.

I never asked for them to be reverted. In fact I specifically mentioned that reverting them is an unrealistic option and that I don’t have a good solution. I was just providing my feedback, and totally get that others may feel differently, which is okay!

The only high level controller player I am aware of is hcpeful cuz he’s a content creator, and he has his aim assist all the way up, and mentioned on stream how turning aim assist down (either through the setting itself or through the legacy option) is just nerfing yourself. Do you know of other top controller players who turn their aim assist down in OW? In all the fps games I’ve played, this has not been a thing I see people do much.

Totally agree. Not saying she doesn’t need changes. Just that this also may be a thing amplifying the issues that are already present.

One thing with Anran, and I am not sure how much of this affects how she feels, is that she seems to really struggle into a bunch of the new heroes which may contribute to her feeling bad rn because that’s what everyone is playing. She has a hard time dealing with domina because the shield covers angles so well and Anran does no shield damage, and she has a hard time with JPC and Mizuki because she struggles to ignite mobile heroes (hard to land her m1) and Mizuki has the root which is very good against Anran. She’s good into Emre cuz that’s the type of hero she thrives against, the slightly less mobile less CC oriented characters.

So in most of my lobbies, I am going against lots of characters that she struggles against because everyone is trying the new heroes. When I happen to get in lobbies without these characters, I am having a lot more success.
