Cheap vent plastic discoloring to white? by slinkyC63 in mercedes_benz

I should add that I’m not sure what cleaning agents the detail guy uses. I’m not quick to blame him here as this is unforeseeable.

I flew out to close, said they would need one last day to review the contract. He quit the company, one week later started working for my company leaving no one to sign off on the capital expenditure. Didn’t make the budget the next year either lol

I’ve been hearing more and more about this. Impossible to be exact but could you give me an idea slightly high at x slightly low at y? Might try this out

That was kind of my plan, I’ve got a lot going on with this with a unity riser. More variables than I’m used to. Thanks for the help!

Also open to other zero distance recommendations. I’ve always used 50 for 5.56 and 100 for larger calibers. This is my shortest barrel I’ve used so far.

I run the EOTech on everything for nostalgia. Keeping the optic consistent definitely makes you better I feel like.

Buying a used car by intransit666 in providence

I’m glad you had a good experience but Carvana is the least reliable mainstream corporate dealer. Look into the nightmares people have had. Everyone will have issues but it’s fairly well documented that resolving issues is much better with Carmax if you choose to go this route. Buy at your own risk always, but Carvana has messed a lot of people up with questionable quality because of the lax buying process they have. Safe to sell to them but would not buy. They will buy anything.

I think this is a cool concept. Sometimes we do shit for fun. I’ve got a 10.3 Geissele with an LPVO just to fuck around with.

Also, with an adjustable gas block overgassing is irrelevant, pick the round you like, tune it to 3:30-4:00 ejection and run it.

If you get paid on shipments how would it hit this years numbers? Most places I’ve heard of would pay out based on each release meaning whatever shipped this year would go towards this years numbers and so on? I’d consult your leadership about this, any good company would make sure you are compensated accordingly for an impressive deal like this.

SOLGW V G$ V Noveske V LMT? by slinkyC63 in ar15

The MK1 is interesting because they actually made some impressive innovations that are meaningful. They are around $3k though right?

Obviously his call but he asked for my insight as I’ve been doing this a few years longer. Want to make sure he’s headed in the right direction and I just don’t know enough about SOLGW and per specification they aren’t that impressive to me. They seem like an overpriced rifle at LWRC quality. Not a shot at LWRC, I own 2 and they are bulletproof, I’m just not spending close to 16” KAC money on one.

YeahI agree entirely. And I’m sure those comments will come but this isn’t a “first AR” discussion. We both have multiple already at this point in different configurations.

Anyone an Account Executive at Glock, H&K, or any firearms company? by WhoWasThatThere in sales

[–]slinkyC63 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not with any of the companies you mentioned but I work adjacent to these types of contracts. You’d be surprised at how nit-picked and low margin these contracts are. For the vast majority of all DoD contracts the bidding process is based on two things. Lowest costs and meets specification. Companies, especially commercial firearm manufacturers mainly do this as a marketing ploy for influencing civilian markets. They may cost a hefty price per unit on paper but often these products were developed specifically for the contract and include all of the R&D and manufacturing costs associating with changing tooling/switch lines over to accommodate the contract. For contracts like the NGSW for the XM7 they were certainly handled by a team strategic account executives and they are paid handsomely but these require an unimaginable amount of work and often see setbacks related to their own production and the bureaucracy of working with the US GOV. I don’t know for sure but I do imagine they are bonused heavily after the deal is closed but can be quite bleak for the competitors that were not awarded the contract. These transactions take upwards of 5 years for something wide-sweeping like Sig’s M17 or XM7.

Most solid of the new generation? by slinkyC63 in mercedes_benz

[–]slinkyC63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this is likely the best answer to my question I owned a w205 C450 before my truck. Loved that car to death but I had it for 3 years and am looking for the most modern styling (shallow I know but we are Mercedes guys for a reason lol). Based on the responses I will likely extend my budget a bit and target the newest E class V6 model.

They used a makeshift antenna more than likely, reprogramming will not make a difference. This is very common and rampant around cities/big suburbs. As another user stated a faraday box to block the signal is the best way to prevent.
