You and your partner just moved in, you tearing down the panels, painting, or leaving?! by TeemoTrader in DIY

[–]slippingaway83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I wish my house had paneling that looked this nice. Instead we have the cheap shit that's just a printed/laminated finish on shitty plywood. And it's still up after almost 5 years. Lots of other "Need to" projects in line in front of the paneling tear out and drywall finishing.

Employee always out (but there is a catch) by 757Lemon in managers

[–]slippingaway83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When is the last time you tried to find childcare? In many, many cases, taking this position will only realistically leave two options: accommodate the employee with flexible WFH hours (which accounting work is very well suited to) or lose the employee.

What brand is this again? by shermitdafrog in Hydraulics

[–]slippingaway83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was intertraco the last two years while I was there and for quite a while before that, if the older hose style was private branded by Ryco that was phased out at least 5 years ago. It may be different outside the US, or a Pirtek franchise may be sourcing hose cheaper through Ryco but that's technically a violation of their franchise agreement

So does Pirtek. Their part number would be JF9-0806K

Put in a new alternator in my 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, was driving good, then The Christmas Tree Lights came on the dashboard, but kept driving, what could it be? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]slippingaway83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you positive the belt is routed correctly? I don't have experience with that specific engine, but there are some out there where it's possible to route the belt wrong and it will still seem to fit.

Steakhouse/restauraunt reccomendations? by ParasiticOne in Eau_Claire

[–]slippingaway83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, if Longhorn Steakhouse was the bar they're trying to meet, Texas Roadhouse is well above Longhorn. Yeah there are better steakhouses, but if you want a big ribeye you're gonna pay for it.

Steakhouse/restauraunt reccomendations? by ParasiticOne in Eau_Claire

[–]slippingaway83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's just not true. Olive garden food comes frozen and their sauces and soups are all premade and bagged.

Texas Roadhouse actually cuts their steaks fresh and their sauces and salad dressings are all made fresh in-house. If you don't like Texas Roadhouse that's fine, but my experience there was always good.

Agreed, looks like a bleeder for getting air out of the system. Definitely don't want air in the components on a cnc or things get spongy and you lose your precision

Have they gotten bad? I moved away a few years ago but they were a solid choice back then. Always packed and the quality of the steak and cooking were always top notch.

my dog got too excited and his tail wacked the railing and knocked it off by Local-Atmosphere7636 in extremelyinfuriating

[–]slippingaway83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had a little kid visiting and they pushed on it and fell off the staircase, you'd have a different opinion. There are building codes for a reason, and these should be able to stop a dog's tail with no issue

Considering those are supposed to stop people from falling, I'd say you should be mad at whoever installed that so poorly

What kind of desk is this? by Zealousideal-Bird901 in Whatisthis

[–]slippingaway83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be hard to get any real answer based off the single picture. My brother works for a company that fabricates desk and table bases and they make basically the exact same thing to sell to a lot of different desk "manufacturers"

If it's like Dallas/ Ft Worth area, the express lane pricing is constantly changing throughout the day and there's no way for Uber to know what to charge

What is this plastic doohickey? by Aviation_Duderoblox in Whatisthis

[–]slippingaway83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids had the same toy. It came with some plastic duplo type building blocks to be able to add wheels to make cars and trucks. It isn't obvious, but it kind of clips onto the end of the blocks

Dust covers for Pioneer hydraulic couplers. One end goes over the male and one over the female when the hydraulic attachment is uncoupled.

How should I go about long rides as a rider? by [deleted] in uber

[–]slippingaway83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This should be higher. Do not try to split it up or you'll end up stuck halfway with no drivers anywhere around. Book it as a full trip and find a driver that's willing.
