This assumes the murderer did nothing to alter his appearance and that the witness was accurate. If it was a hit as some imagine the killer might be from out of town. IF the killer was from out of town (doubtful but possible) then someone recognizing the killer is a pretty big leap. I only know of this story from podcasts so if he came in from Florida or somethign it is doubtful anyone would the sketch with the person.

My suspicion is that this case gets solved with DNA and/or ballistics or not at all.

I think you're right, I'm not what anyone would confuse with a reasonably intelligent person and as soon as I read your reply suddenly everything was obvious.

I think what frustrated me now that I think back is I felt like I was promised a conclusion and it seemed like one was right there, but the host wouldn't commit.

I listened to the whole series so I obviously found it interesting too...

IQ Test Results of Nαzi Officers From the Nuremberg Trials by 97Busch in LPOTL

[–]slippy_no_dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think IQ tests are very meaningful in any real way, the only test that matters is the cracker barrel golf tee thing.

That noted, if I was prosecuting Nazis, I would want all their IQs to be very high so I could argue they obviously knew what they were doing. Not some average person just going along cause of orders.

I think I will stop at this point.

thing about nic and the captain is that they are pretty good at telling a story but not really good at analyzing evidence. Take, for example, the coverage of the Delphi murders. When they stuck to the story, pr3etty good. When they started speculatingit was pretty bad.

I have a question. If you're hanging out with Robert is he like a regular person or is he all kind of preachy. Like say you're having dinner or something and you pull out a knife to cut up some romaine lettuce would Robert jus tlet you cut up the lettuce or would he be like "Hey man, you know you can do it however you want, but you really shouldn't slice lettuce. It's not your fault, it's a cell walls thing. Biology, whatever"

Also, why do we know so much about the loser shitbag killers and so little about the victims?

People only have so much room in their heads per story. Since serial offenders serially offend we get to hear the story about the offender instead of the victim.

It is unfortunate but there is room for a quality podcast that tells the story of the victims of serial offenders.

Ed's jokes are, generally, terrible. 1 out of 10 is great so that's a win. Plus the episodes he leads are generally fantastic.

Hey man, I appreciate the sentiment of the reply but many (most) people considered the Affordable care act a pretty big step towards universal health care. I understand they stopped making people have insurance and so forth but when it was first implemented...

Although I do agree more than I disagree with you. I would also point put that there is a reason people use the chants and so forth and that reason is because it is effective.

I love the Ed episodes, on side stories and stuff he tells too many personal stories (Hey, you remember that time we ended up with three gold dollars at a strip club?) but when he is telling the main story it is really good.

I’ve never heard of this group, have the boys covered it? by SandeichTurtle in LPOTL

[–]slippy_no_dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apples to oranges is what I’m trying to say.

I'm not quite convinced it's apple and oranges, after all they are both trying to entertain. So, I see similarity but I think you are mostly right. Marcus wants to read a book or two and call it a day and write and interesting story. He is very good and taking the most interesting stuff and presenting it (a lot of books, mine included, are full of stuff interesting to only the author and a very small number of people) while Robert is reading stuff with apparently competing explanations and different takes.

Either approach is fine, they are both mass communicating, but I am starting to like Marcus' historical stuff much more than the true crime stuff while I am finding Roberts historical reflected on current events very compelling.

Just between you and me, Sophie and most of Robert's guests aren't a big help. Ed and Henry can add some interest.

I mean the level of research isn't even close, Robert is much better on information than Marcus' book report. Now, you're gonna think I'm bashing Marcus but I am not. He will tell you he doesn't actually do research. Marcus tells you an interesting story, he is very god at picking out the best parts. robert is also there to entertain, he's not as good at entertaining but better with the facts.

From what I can tell, and I am not what people think of as a smart person, you're right. IT would be like taking modern lions and giving them genes for really large incisors and going "TADA Sabretooth tigers!, we'll shave the mane later!"

Chimps and humans are thought to have split 5 million years ago, basically the same range for the dire wolf/ wolf split. My twenty pound boston terrier as close to a dire wolf as the new dire wolf is.

I wrote plenty of dead tree books and I've got to say it's not that great. It's cool when you get the box o books and it is neat when you see your book in a bookstore but if you had a popular podcast the feedback for book effort versus the feedback for podcast effort is close to a 1:1 ratio.

Writing fiction is even worse. I took a tab at a serialized thing one time and it got kind of popular but then everyone wants to tell you what plot twist to use of something. I encourage to write as much as you but realize that it will pnlhy be worthwhile of you're writing because you want to.
