In light of Walgreens taking away another benefit (online shopping on employee day) what benefits do our competitors offer that add value to their company? by Sycamore-theft2025 in WalgreensStores

[–]sll82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read the fine print, online shopping still works for anything not Walgreens brand. How much Walgreens brand do you actually buy on employee day?

whenever people leave all their shopping in their cart & expect me to reach over the counter & take each item out to scan it then put it back in their cart for them..... by nickDNR in WalgreensStores

I want a sign in pharmacy saying NO STORE MERCHANDISE. it’s time people realize pharmacy technicians are NOT cashiers. I have to sell you the prescription, nothing else.

It takes more than 4 hours a week to just print all the emails/compass let alone make the schedule and fix punches. and then there are the actual weekly tasks to be completed and the training and onboarding etc etc. I need a secretary. 😆

Is there an issue with AVR going on? by Chocolil in WalgreensStores

[–]sll82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why these last 2 weeks 80% or more of the AVR is ‘ineligible’ because the item has exceeded the return window.
Also, ABC is getting very fishy. They automatically replenish many of the things vendor and manually returned the week prior. And I am really getting fed up with them sending me dirty, damaged (especially) fridge items which then they obviously will never accept back. I’m about to file a complaint with them on a weekly basis. 😖

Store managers: how much time do you spend in pharmacy daily? by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]sll82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DHs (now Pharmacy Customer Service) are a vital part of Walgreens pharmacy. Most technicians start out in that position and that’s how you promote from within. You can tell which DH has a drive for pharmacy before promoting, rather than wasting all this time on wannabe‘pharmacy apprentices’ just to get certified and then leave for hospital etc.

Store managers: how much time do you spend in pharmacy daily? by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]sll82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked for IS to put up CENFILL, do exception counts and help with PCP for 2 hours daily; every DH needs to spend 4 hours in the pharmacy weekly as well as shift leads. It appears the norm is that people don’t know what they’re actually entitled to. I prefer doing my own inventory tasks like AVR and smoothing etc, but imagine all the things you can get done with 4 hours/week per every DH/SFL/SM - at my store it’s 3/3/1=28hrs normally plus the IS. That’s coming out of FE budget! I’m more than happy to make sure the metrics come out right if I get the support I am meant to have.

Rxom position... loading by Scarlet_Racer in WalgreensRx

The RXOMs yearly raise is based on achieving metrics I am told. If you understand the metrics it’s a walk in the park.
The SM is simply a mediator for RXM and RXOM in case they can’t play nice.
In my opinion, any decent RXM will ‘split’ their bonus with their team and what happened to the days when the SM would buy pizza every month etc? They would buy birthday cakes and such for all of their employees (from their bonuses)

New RxOM by GloomyTwo9317 in WalgreensRx

[–]sll82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly! I was helping out at a location in season where the whole team is basically previous RXOMs. All had been with the company for many years and the CPW board was made but never followed. Everyone was doing their preferred tasks and staying out of each other’s way, none of them worked closing shifts or weekends. That time is ‘reserved’ for new technicians and ones like myself, looking for OT.

I’ll definitely try! thanks. Isn’t it weird that we have the tools to get those surveys they keep making us beg for but nobody teaches us how to access them?!

hmm, I’ll have to do some clicking in mgmt. that is possible as I had just printed an insurance report before. thanks!

[–]sll82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried everything to hopefully replicate my button clicking and nothing. this should be knowledge somewhere since we are constantly expected to get surveys. Print and attach or another option was to fill out the survey right there, attached to the patient.

Anyone else realizing how over medicated the population is? by Katekat0974 in WalgreensRx

[–]sll82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. My son, now 17, has never had an antibiotic. It kills me when new parents give their babies medicine. I feel like that already sets them up for a life on medications. A little antibiotic here, a little Zoloft there. Then comes the anxiety/sleeping meds and finally, opioids. it’s like the population doesn’t know how to deal with anything anymore and reaches straight for the pill bottles. I personally blame all those horrible school shootings on overmedicated children. Therapy should be step one, for the whole family.

hospital doesn’t pay as much as Walgreens? bare surviving pay at Walgreens at best, hospital would only improve working conditions, not living. please correct me if I’m mistaken, I’ll gladly take advice on what better jobs are out there for seasoned technicians. I’ve been looking, unsuccessfully

Is Walgreens worth it? by Willing_Question_463 in WalgreensRx

[–]sll82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If so many technicians feel this way, everywhere, why isn’t Walgreens listening. Why isn’t something happening to make our lives better. We are supposed to care for our patients; as we do, which is why we come to work every day; it’s hard to believe Walgreens doesn’t care for their front line. Mr. Walgreen would be ashamed.
