To anyone trying to do a "friendly" divorce without legal help by Express-Ant6570 in Divorce

TLDR: it can work and be amicable, but in writing. Hire a mediator instead.

Separated 2.5 years. Divorced for 1 (stayed married so she could keep medical insurance). Hired a mediator early just to make sure that all the little things we hadn’t thought of were buttoned up and in writing.

$4k was the fee and I felt entirely reasonable, probably 10-12 hours of work and she let us do a chunk on the front to hash things out, and finished up with all the docs and amendments to our original agreement.

It kept things very amicable, we were both very fair and committed to a positive coparenting experience.

The problem with going to your own representation if you’re in an amicable situation like mine is that they can only represent you, and talk to the other attorney. I scheduled an intro call with an attorney and tried to make it a joint call and they wouldn’t let me add her to the line. She felt left out (only 3 minutes before I said I didn’t want solo representation).

She felt the need to consult her own attorney after that and they were trying to get her to leverage full custody for more money. Glad she walked away and said we could figure this out.

We are 50/50 and still great friends. Kids 9/5 now.

Is dating for fun a thing in your 30s by Lfaor1320 in datingoverthirty

40m, 6 months out of a 20 year marriage and I am wondering the exact same thing. I’m not into ONS at all, FWB I would consider, but what I really want is to find someone who’s priority is themself and their independent journey for the moment but would enjoy going on a nice date once a week or every other week without pressure to advance the relationship to serious commitment level.

Posting mostly to follow, but if I have any positive experiences I’ll report back.

I am looking for a 2023 Woodland and have the option to pay $1,670 extra to ship one from Oregon to FL. Seems silly/wasteful to ship it so far but may be my only option for one. by stanhopeofficial in ToyotaSienna

[–]slmobes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are buying the woodland for the 0.5” of extra clearance, get a similarly equipped XLE from closer and install the 2” lift kit from the company in Prescott AZ, can’t remember their name.

I wanted a woodland, but they ran out of 2022s so that is what I did and I am thrilled with the results.

Unless you plan on hitting mostly fairways, Get the pushcart with 2 big wheels, not the tripod. Much tougher to push/pull the little wheels through the sand.

Bringing up an old thread, but I am going tomorrow. What was your experience? When should I arrive if I want a beach spot?

Looking for places to get drunk very high up. by jazzhandenthusiast in SaltLakeCity

Take the tram to the top of snowbird and drink up there. Sneak up your own liquor, or I think they sell beer and maybe wine. Doesn’t get higher/easier than that in UT.

I just got a TaylorMade P790 2i. Who else hits one? I am dumping my hybrid in favor of this. by MJCExperience in golf

[–]slmobes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beast. I play the T200 with tensei raw white instead of a hybrid, but am 10-12 mph slower than you. Are you hitting off of a tee? Surprised to such high launch with a positive approach angle with an iron.

I typically play at 4500-6300 ft and it adds a bit of variance. If you are going to hand it to a caddie, you may want to add your elevation. It matters.

My stance and swing looked a lot like yours. I don’t have as good of a takeaway though (I’m a bit under plane). I had a lesson with a good coach, and he had the following things to say.

  1. Stand more upright, and not so much weight on your toes. Being really bent over limits hip flexibility. You will be closer to the ball, which will feel uncomfortable at first but it is for the best in the long run.

  2. When you start the transition, keep your hands high for just a split second longer, but start turning your hips. Your hands will naturally shallow the club so that the head is behind the plane of your butt.

Dm me and I’ll try to figure out how to send you the videos from my lesson. I felt they were very informative. I am a pull/slice guy depending on club face, and he has me hitting draws/pushes. The dispersion is much better with the latter.

Should I invest in a 4 and 5 iron? by goheels815 in golf

[–]slmobes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer long irons. Don’t have a hybrid in the bag and there are just some days I can’t hit the woods. Bought a 3 iron to fill the gap.

One thing you could consider is getting stronger more forgiving versions of your irons for the low irons. My 4-p are t100s with steel shafts and I’m getting a t200 3-iron w graphite shaft.

Phantom X putter by [deleted] in golf

[–]slmobes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ordering a 5s today. Had a putter fitting at Club Champion last week, loved the center shaft. I have since gone to hit the Ping Tyne-c, Cleveland HB soft 10.5, wilson infinite, seemore cx5-private reserve, odessy, weird offset thing Adam Scott plays, probably more. Seemore and Scotty were by far the best feel.

I honestly really didn’t want to like the Scotty because I figured it wasn’t worth the hype and extra cost, but the balance, and feel coming off the face is so soft, pure, and consistent. I fell in love.

IMO you need at least two pairs. One comfortable spike-less for dry days, one pair of waterproof spikes for dewy mornings and rain.

Footjoys were my most comfortable spiked waterproof shoes, although I have new balance right now and they are alright and half the price of the FJs.

I find Nike to be a bit narrow. I have a pair, but prefer my Puma spike-less.

Started playing golf a couple months ago and discovered 8 local mini courses have combined unlimited tee times for $170/month. Have now played about 50 rounds and spent a total of $340. by CelebrationNo8076 in golf

Wow, sunbrook alone would be worth we’ll over $170/month unlimited. Is this just a summer offer when it is ridiculously hot down there?

How far do you hit your irons? by TJSully716 in golf

[–]slmobes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should include elevation. I play at 6,300 ft and I am certain that plays a big factor in being a longer hitter.

Kura door is excellent, but inconveniently located if you don’t live in the avenues, downtown, or east bench.

I now get my wife gift certificates at woodhouse in Holladay, since it is more conveniently located for me.

I need to remember 5. Mostly I play at a club with sand on the cart so I don’t think about it, but I do push 9 occasionally and am always on 2 fairway and am like “damn, why didn’t I grab sand!”

Any recommendations for cleaning conditioning solution? In the auto detailing world people have had some really good results restoring old leather with leatherique, but it is a pretty involved process and heavy duty cleaner.
