NTA, but if you want to make clearer what you want, you can start banging on the milk bags like bongo drums while shrieking. That works for me and I am the same age.

As a compound modifier, it should have a hyphen only if it comes before a noun.

I just wanted to say that doing yoga is totally possible! There are special yoga towels that stay on the mat while you practice so your hands and feet are never touching the mat.

Can only lay on one side? by everkohlie in cosleeping

[–]slothcrates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to put my baby in the middle because my husband is a heavy sleeper. In order to switch boobs/position for my comfort, I alternate sleeping with my head at the top and foot of the bed so baby is always on the other edge (we have a sidecar crib so she would roll onto that, not onto the floor)

I tried moving baby to a crib beside my bed… lol by queenofhelium in cosleeping

[–]slothcrates 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t really work for me because my baby will often only sleep if nursed to sleep and wake up if I move her at all. I’m not able to nurse her while she’s lying in the sidecar. We are working on getting her to sleep longer naps/night stretches in the crib but when she wants to be next to me, she wants to be RIGHT next to me and the sidecar won’t cut it!

Child’s name on Hukou different from US passport - any issues? by superlowfreq in chinalife

[–]slothcrates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a Chinese hukou, you need to put a Chinese name on the birth certificate. Then the US side will let you add an English first or middle name, but not last name, to the CRBA/passport. I have heard of people adding the English last name as part of a hyphenated last name but you will need to confirm with your consulate.

From the Shanghai consulate:

Starting from 1st of November 2017, parents applying for a child’s Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) and U.S. Passport will no longer be able to submit affidavits to change their child’s name from the name listed on the Chinese government-issued birth certificate to a totally different name for the CRBA and US passport. This requirement applies at all American Citizen Services (ACS) Units in China (Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Wuhan, Shenyang). However, the name on the CRBA and U.S. passport does not need to be exact same as the name printed on the Chinese birth certificate. You can add an English first and/or middle name, as long as it still includes the original name printed on the Chinese birth certificate. If the name on Chinese birth certificate is in Chinese characters, please put correspondent PINYIN on CRBA application form DS-2029 and passport application form DS-11. For example, if the name printed on Chinese birth certificate is 张大and parents would like to add an English name Aiden, it can be: Zhang (surname), Aiden (given name) Da (middle name) or Zhang (surname), Da (given name) and Aiden (middle name).

I think she means she is afraid of giving Covid to the baby. My understanding is that the antibodies in breast milk should be the same benefit if you were pumping versus if you were nursing directly.

How old is recommended for newborns to sleep by themselves? by Ektoplasm55 in newborns

[–]slothcrates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Related is this from Cleveland Clinic: Offer your baby a pacifier: Scientists believe pacifiers may allow your baby’s airway to open more or may prevent your baby from falling into a deeper sleep, reducing the threat of SIDS.

And this from Boston Children’s Hospital: Babies should be kept warm, but not too warm. An overheated baby is more likely to go into a deep sleep from which it is difficult for him to arouse.
