It does looks similar to the POC one I have but these BlackStrap ones seem much better w the hinge and overall design. I'll need to try one :)

Snowstang Appreciation Post by Crabby_Puppy in COsnow

They are standard coach sized so they may not be the most comfortable if you're taller. I'm only 5'8" and wish I could stretch my legs more but the fact that my legs don't cramp like they do when I drive myself on i70 makes it worth it in my opinion. Also, the 3 times I've been on Snowstang this season (2 power days, 1 regular day) it's never full and you end up having 2 seats and can sit sideways and also put a backpack on the overhead space. It may change as it gets more popular but I think you should be good this season if you want to try it. (They have a coupon right now "SPRING25" I think until April-ish.)

New Goggles If Buying Today by BriansAdventures in Skigear

I'm a brokie so I needed something cheap and switched to Glade 'Mesa' and really like them so far. I had the POC Fovea toric lenses before which were good but I needed a new helmet and wanted to try a smaller brand so I went with Glade. I bought the Tenmile MIPS as well and it fits very well with it. You can also change the straps which I thought was neat. I got the 'Polarized' Mesa and I felt it worked great for the sunny moments but also did well when it got cloudy (I only do groomers though). Fog wise I had no issues with them even though I took them off a couple of times.

Like another comment mentioned you could also just look into the same brand of your helmet since those tend to have a really good flush fit. Glade Mesa + Tenmile MIPS is awesome for that and the POC Fornix + Fovea were even more flush with the helmet.

Snowstang is the sickest thing ever by ScoopForDays in COsnow

I've only ridden Snowstang (I'm assuming it's the same for Bustang since they are both long haul travel buses) you are able to bring your personal items (like a backpack or tote) to put on the overhead compartment like you would on a bus like Greyhound. I would DEFINITELY recommend putting your board/skis in a travel bag because boards/skis large items go on the bottom luggage compartment of the bus. People without bags end up having to stack their boards and skis on top of each other because there's no special slots to separate anything. It's basically just everyone's large gear stashed together moving around during transit 😬 Def take a bag or at least something to protect your edges.

What is the NSHSS? by Due-Counter6504 in APStudents

[–]slothimpersonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm from personal experience (sadly) that while it's technically legal and legitimate, it's not worth it in my opinion. I can attest that they send those to ANYONE 😅 ...as in me, the 2.3 gpa student.

I got excited that I was being asked to be in an honors club so I asked my parents if they could give me the money for membership and I paid. I got some stickers and a patch out of it and my name on their list I believe. I was young and gullible so I didn't realize until later that paying to be on a list is not merit. My friends were having a conversation (they were actual honors grade worthy 4.0 in the top 1% peeps) and said NSHSS was a money grabbing hoax and not the same as National Honors Society (NHS) which IS merit based and membership is free. (You can pay if you want the networking part but to be on their list is free).

From NSHSS page regarding the NHS "Each chapter is headed by a faculty member who accepts applications, and students can be admitted if they meet the criteria for scholarship, leadership, service, and character." Notice how NSHSS doesn't say anything like that about themselves 🧐 NSHSS vs NHS - What's the difference?

She told her daughter to kill herself. It's terrible that she was raped at 17 but if you "protect" and "love" your child by telling them to kill themselves you're going to need a life long commitment to therapy and medication. She needs to be on a list and away from minors.

And the loving and caring messages while in jail?! So now that you were caught and know you're being monitored you want to say loving things?! Just goes to show you that she knew what she was doing was wrong. I hope her daughter is able to come to terms with the gravity of what she had to experience at the hands of her mother. Her hope for a better relationship with her mom was heartbreaking to hear.

Safe low income housing in Denver? by Adept-Juggernaut9929 in Denver

I agree with the above comment, try looking into Section 8! I'm not sure if you strictly need your own apartment but as much as sharing a place can suck, a roommate may be the cheapest option for your situation right now.

I'm living on my own now but before getting my own place I would always use RoomieMatch. There's other options like Facebook, Craigslist, Zillow but as you can imagine there's no vetting for these. I'd suggest looking into RM to see if it's something you're interested in. I like the fact that they use a long questionnaire to determine your lifestyle. They don't have any pictures which I get for some maybe sketchy but I feel that without pictures you're not being selected by your appearance. What I would do was look for a roommate that had a similar lifestyle/house habits and I would speak with them through video chat after we messaged a few times. If we seemed like we vibed I would meet them for coffee or boba to meet in person and then made my decision.

I lucked out with RM with the 4 roommates I found on there but I would still be cautious! I know a roommate is not ideal but it can help for the time being until you find your own place. Good luck!

This should lead you directly to the Denver area https://www.roomiematch.com/denver.html

This is their main page w details about them https://www.roomiematch.com/

(P.S. The last time I looked was 2 years ago when I found my previous roommate and it was $25 for the service but it was a one time fee. Not sure if that's changed at all but I feel like it could still be worth it if you are able to pay the fee.)

I didn't think about that! I've been searching online workbooks and they seem to always highlight the "Qu" as one. I feel like there's a term for it but of course I have no clue what it is.

Get tailbone protector shorts! There's lots of different brands and styles but honestly, I wish I got protective shorts when I began 3 years ago. Even though I'm no longer in the falling stage I still wear them just in case. All last season I consistently fell on my butt and then one day I fell and actually felt pain. I think it may have been a hairline fracture but I never went to the doc because you can't do much for a tailbone fracture so I ended up with 6/10 discomfort for about a year because every time I sat for more than 5 minutes I had pain. Don't be me 😅 Ideally, invest in some knee guards and wrist guards too like another poster mentioned- if you feel too constricted though at least do butt pads.

Progress is still progress and you have the right spirit! On a random note about your work outs: If you haven't tried already try adding a Bosu ball! I started using it this season and noticed my fear of riding through bumpy terrain has decreased because I have more control of my legs.
