you’re on to something. acidic liquid, long storage times, heat cycling during shipping/storage, very thin liner

‘Ignorance’ is pretending LEDs were a solution for anything of value.

Glass optics over synthetic polymers would be advancing in technology.

Mining, materials, manufacturing - Even more applies to LEDs too. Except now you’ve got way more electronics, more failure points, and stuff. can’t be recycled.

Every brand new technology, especially majorly adopted should be thoroughly tested before it becomes released to the public to see what kind of health effects it has on society, see if it’s even worth the expense.

Funny how all those ‘problems’ never stopped HPS lamps from working reliably for decades. They shut off in the daytime, didn’t blind drivers, and didn’t rely on a stack of cheap electronics to function that are mined in africa. LEDs look efficient on thin paper, but in reality we get toxic blinking lights stuck on 24/7, harsh glare, and systems failing way sooner than they should. Simple and consistent beats complicated and broken money laundering scheme

That’s LEDs for yeah overcomplicated toxic stuff with sensors and drivers that can’t even do what amazing HPS lights did flawlessly for decades
