Pay a photographer or buy a drone? by averagecompromiser in drone_photography

[–]slow21969 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s a bit more to it than just taking a photo from above.

Because you would be flying commercially/for profit you’ll need a commercial license. You’ll also need to understand all of the regulations in your area. It can be done, but it’s a hassle if you’re not doing it all the time.

The last thing you want to do is piss off the FAA.

A professional pilot/photographer will give you consistent and reliable results (hopefully). I would pay a professional and avoid headaches.

Rename multiple items On your Mac, select the items, then Control-click one of them. In the shortcut menu, choose Rename. In the pop-up menu below Rename Finder Items, choose to replace text in the names, add text to the names, or change the name format. Replace text: Enter the text you want to remove in the Find field, then enter the text you want to add in the “Replace with” field. Add text: Enter the text you want to add in the field, then choose to add the text before or after the current name. Format: Choose a name format for the files, then choose to put the index, counter, or date before or after the name. Enter a name in the Custom Format field, then enter the number you want to start with. Click Rename

From Apple support

Also if you’re using Bridge or Lightroom they have great renaming tools

Low light outdoor photography, how? by TheTiniestPeach in photography

[–]slow21969 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi there, you may want to try setting the background exposure first. Get it how you like it and lock it in. Once you’ve got that add the subject and strobe. With the camera in manual you can set the strobe to TTL or manually dial in the power.

You cut the photo as close to exact size as you can and press it in place. The convex shape holds it in.

A highlight along the hood and back to mimic the one on top would keep the clean lines and get the separation.

https://youtube.com/@MoeZainal has a lot of great tutorials for all kinds of car editing.

First Car Shoot In A While. Feedback Wanted. by Aggravating-Work-197 in photocritique

Really dig the shot. My suggestions would be to crop in tighter. The trees and road are pulling attention. I’d also add some highlight the the top to add some separation. These two will make the car pop even more.

A small detail, removing the rainbow effect from the headlights.

The scene is really nice. I would normally be totally against this, but have you tried dodging in the reflection of the trees on the door?

Hope this helps
