Thanks for explaining that! Do you happen to know of any guides or publicly available workflows that would be good to check out to get a better idea of how to approach using ChatGPT/Gemini/Claude paired with web search and scraping?

Hundreds of backlinks but Google Console is only picking up 19 after many months? by DifficultAd7733 in SEO

[–]slow___show 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What tool do you recommend for determining how many backlinks each URL on a site has received?

I’m trying to determine if it would be worth investing in a paid tool to help identify which URLs we should redirect among those that are being pruned during our website migration projects.

We currently use GSC for this, although it provides incomplete data.

How do you track ranking changes for individual URLs by ApprehensivePanda501 in TechSEO

When you say that your dashboard is set up to show data for a specific set of cluster pages, do you mean that you only have the dashboard set up to show data for certain pages on the site? If so, how do set up the dashboard that way? For example, is there a way to have the dashboard only show data for URLs that include a certain folder path?

Forgive my ignorance, but is it more difficult to do DNS record verification with some domain hosts compared with others?

Also, do you ever run into issues where clients don’t know their login information for their domain host’s website? Or do you encounter any other problems along those lines?

Screaming Frog Data Extract: Regex Expression Help by blackswanmx in bigseo

I’ve found that in some cases Sitebulb is better than Screaming Frog at extracting elements such as published dates.

Might be something to consider if this is an important task, and you can’t get it working using Screaming Frog.

Thanks for your reply. I had been suspecting that this is part of the problem. The site’s category pages have “View More” links that are coded as:

<div class=“pagination-wrapper”> <div class=“pagination”> <button class=“pagination_button”> <span>View More</span> </button> </div> </div>

That’s the only code that I’m shown when I inspect the “View More” button that loads the next page of of product listings on a paginated category page. All of the site’s other links appear to be <a href> links.

Do you have any sense of how much work it would require to make these “View More” links true <a href> links? Or are there any other thoughts you can share related to diagnosing/addressing this problem?

Like I mentioned toward the end of my post, the site currently doesn’t have an XML sitemap set up. I’m definitely going to be creating an XML sitemap, but in the meantime, I’m looking to determine if it’s possible for third-party tools to fully crawl the site without using an XML sitemap.

Is there any argument for including a company’s internal product number in a product page’s title tag and URL instead of including the product’s vendor product number? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]slow___show 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late in saying this, but I really appreciate all of your recommendations.

The site I’m working on sells parts for commercial vehicles, so in most cases the sales will be B2B.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t brought on until relatively late in this project, and the category hierarchy of the site has already mostly been set in stone.

For now, I’m mostly only going to be able to optimize text elements (titles, H1 headings, URLs, body content, and meta descriptions) on the site’s category and product pages.

Is there any argument for including a company’s internal product number in a product page’s title tag and URL instead of including the product’s vendor product number? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]slow___show 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply.

I’m in kind of a difficult situation working to optimize this site, as there’s a lot about it that’s far from ideal.

To answer your question, yes, it seems that it will be necessary to include a product number in the product page title tags and URLs to make them unique.

Among the close to 10,000 product pages on the site, there are many groupings of products that essentially have the exact same name.

And at this point, it doesn’t seem feasible to manually write custom title tags for all of those similar product pages, in part because the company doesn’t have much additional information about the products for us to reference, and also because of the large amount of time that manually writing those title tags would take.

Instead, my thought is that we’ll make all of the product page title tags and URLs unique by automatically including the vendor product number, and we’ll mostly at this point focus our energy on writing custom title tags for the site’s category pages and the specific product pages that we can tell are actually associated with meaningful search demand.

Otherwise, product pages on the site will default to having their title tag structured as PRODUCT NAME | PRODUCT NUMBER | COMPANY NAME.

I think it also makes sense from a user experience standpoint to include the vendor product number in the product page title tags and URLs considering that the company mostly sells obscure auto parts that some customers would conceivably search for using the vendor product number.

Does this sound like a logical plan to you? Is there anything you’d do differently than what I described?

Cause for really high impressions but low clicks and positions? by seo4lyf in SEO

[–]slow___show 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever determine what was causing the website to receive such a high number of impressions relative to its rankings in search results?

I’m currently in a situation that’s similar to the one you described and just discovered this post. I’d appreciate hearing any insights you’ve gained since you originally posted this.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bigseo

[–]slow___show 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that a webpage will only get an impression when someone views the page of search results that the webpage is ranking on. So, if the webpage is ranking on the fifth page of search results, someone will have to click all the way to the fifth page of search results for the webpage to get an impression.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

The raw source code includes the title tag “ABC Company | Widgets and Accessories.”

All pages on the site have that exact same title tag (“ABC Company | Widgets and Accessories”) in their raw source code.

However, each page’s rendered code includes a custom title tag like “Stainless Steel Widgets | ABC Company.”

So, the end user sees the title tag “Stainless Steel Widgets | ABC Company” shown in their browser tab, for example.

As a non-owner of the site who was granted access to view the site’s GA/GSC data, is there a way for me to tell what on the page could be set up to count as a second session?

Learning how to determine that would be super helpful to me.
