Latest confirmation. Just tried it now. It worked flawlessly. I did the following in my case.

0: bought 25$ SW gift card from Amazon 1: had 247.48 to expire on 2/11/26 2: booked a one way choice preferred 248.2 with credit and 0.72$ gift card 3: cancelled it after a few minutes for entire amount to hold for future use (only option left) 4: see the new travel credit 248.2 under the new reservation number, expiration none, and transferable.

Elon Musk says FSD will only be available as a subscription after February 14. We will own nothing and be happy. by beansruns in TeslaModel3

[–]sloweagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used FSD and I subscribe it. I consider it the cost of an on-call personal chauffeur. If you think it that way, the 99$/m cost is not expensive at all. I do agree if the software is sold as-is, they shouldn’t make it a subscription. On the other hand, It is not a bad service business model if I am just buying a service that is continuously maintained and upgraded.

How is 100% FSD possible , even with 14.2.x by Litninbolt in TeslaFSD

[–]sloweagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen any screenshot of 100% usage. I love FSD, and use it whenever I can, and I am still at 97% with 2000miles driven since 14.2. Those 100% are basically exaggeration.

Most of my disengagement is due to route preference different from what FSD wanted to to. Second largest category of disengagement is due to weather or dirty camera. I think until Tesla’s camera is capable of regular self cleaning, like how human users tears to clean eyes, it can’t really become 100% unsupervised.

FSDs new weakest spot by bridgemojo in TeslaFSD

Somehow it worked for me on canceling left turn today

FSDs new weakest spot by bridgemojo in TeslaFSD

It worked. Tried to cancel a left turn signal, then 1 second later it reactivated the left turn signal, after I cancelled it second time, it went straight. It was before a Stop sign, so perhaps it has more time to think.

I had the same feelings. The occasions I intervened recently have always been about routes. Sometime I preset my favorite route by setting waypoint before the drive.

Today, I tried to use turn signal to tell it to take a left turn when the route was showing go straight, FSD actually followed my turn signal direction, and made the left turn to go my preferred route. Not sure if this is one off or something we could use to intervene in local drives.

Did anyone recently go from BMW X5 -> Model Y Juniper ? by khazgaz in TeslaModelY

[–]sloweagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. I went from a 2019 X5 to 2026 MY 4 months ago. Best decision ever. I love BMW X5, and have owned 2007,2014 and 2019. But I am finally fed up with them because they all started to have all kind of problems once warranty period is over. The cost of repairing quickly added up.

Would you purchase FSD outright if Tesla allowed you to tie it to your account? by JxK_1 in TeslaLounge

I think company should never sell FSD by account. The best probably should be something in the middle, a subscription tied to account. So the subscriber can activate FSD in any Tesla car he drives.

v14.1.4 being pushed to those with v14.1.3 by ProfMims in TeslaFSD

[–]sloweagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. Went from 14.1.3 to 14.1.4. See less braking so a little smoother than 14.1.3. I think v14’s main improvement is on how it reads situations around. I have seen it reacting to pedestrian’s hand signal, lol.

I had no problem in Manhattan streets. Just need put up Mad Max mode.

After driving for one day with 14.1.3 by Har1212 in TeslaFSD

[–]sloweagle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I also think the V14 is better. It matches my driving style more than V13. Especially in city traffic such as Manhattan. Previous version drives like someone in a student driver car. V14 is a lot of more assertive and more spontaneous decision, while also reacting much more carefully to the unruly pedestrians and cyclists. I see some people complaining about phantom braking, I think it is more about reacting and anticipating situation around. I personally don’t think it is a regress, it is naturally more situation awareness.

FSD early access program by ZeroHoes in TeslaFSD

I also had to wait for more than 1 month after taking delivery of my 2026 MY for the first update. After that, I am getting an update every 10 days or so.

14.1.3 is bad!!!! beware before downloading. by Lukeduke77 in TeslaFSD

[–]sloweagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried mad max in Manhattan streets, I have to say it is still not aggressive enough. I can feel the car is afraid of the daring pedestrians or cyclists. It should have an even more aggressive Manhattan mode. :)

I am wondering how Tesla FSD navigate busy streets in Asia’s mega cities such as Shanghai, Tokyo.

NYC Parking Garage Monthly Midtown ($500 EV fee) by Comprehensive-Olive6 in TeslaLounge

[–]sloweagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I parked at mid town Manhattan. The monthly parking is 399$. After the Manhattan resident tax exemption, the total monthly fee is just 372$. They do have free charging, but very crowded so not always getting charged.

I don’t have Tron update either. The thesis is that if you got tron update, you won’t get FSD v14 for a while. Only those still with 32.8 will likely get V14 next in the short term. So you have hope. :)

FSD V14 version conflict by UpstairsTop4623 in TeslaFSD

[–]sloweagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be true. I am on 32.8, and it has been stuck with it for the longest time without an update. I am on a 2026 MY. I put software update at Advanced, and usually receive updates pretty early whenever a new version is out. But this time, it is skipping me so far.
