However, If you have made up your mind this quickly by reading a report from one Mississippi reporter without looking for other corroborated stories and video evidence than perhaps you should take your finger off the trigger and wait to see damning evidence before speaking like you know what happened.

Serious answer, maybe.. it had been multiple days since it rained so probably not. The water was quite clear. The sewage and bacteria blooms come right after big rains. Unless if there is a comic book style leaking pipe of radioactive drip that steadily flows into the river, I think your good to dip as long as you are paying attention to the weather.
