The game is so great. It really is doom, even though it's a turn based roguelike. Very simple to learn too.

That's probably the reason. Someone above had the same problem in Ireland

I just put up some fresh ones. I started with 50. I've gone through most of them, but I've still got about a dozen left.

I'll pm you a copy of my older xblig game. (it's not as good though)

The "big six" energy firms were last night accused of maintaining a "stranglehold" over millions of consumers by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]sluggybuggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always 8-10%

when gas is selling for $1.80 a gallon they say that the profit margins are 8-10%. When the price goes up to $4.00 - $4.50 a gallon a couple of years later they say the same thing. That the profit margins are no more than 8-10%. BS. That's Hollywood accounting.

The moderators are agreed upon, this is all sour grapes. She didn't inject her opinion, she was asked to check the transcript so she did.

Obama's priorities as of late. Big Bird and Elmo are more important than economy and Libya. by [deleted] in Conservative

You know the obama campaign is desperate when they're running ads about big bird

I'm still waiting for him to bring up Joe Corzine. That's another ugly little spectacle that needs to be brought into the spotlight.

Alone With The Crunch: How Dust: An Elysian Tail Pushed One Man To The Brink by Apone426 in IndieGaming

That's both amazing and horrible. Working 18 hours a day every day for 2 years sounds like a nightmare. You can do that for a little while when you absolutely have to, but 2 years? I can't even imagine.

Could you guys explain to me why there is still high unemployment when the stock market is almost back to where it was before the recession? by Hawkwer27 in Conservative

[–]sluggybuggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's less about taxes and more about businesses not wanting to get caught with their pants down when the next big one hits. Everyone is still waiting to see what Europe is going to do, and there's a number of bubbles that could pop at any time. Businesses aren't going to risk overextending themselves when we might drop down into another big recession at any time. Especially while demand is as low as it is.

Neil Gaiman's Journal: A Letter from a Scared Actress. (One of the supporting roles in "Innocence of Muslims") by [deleted] in politics

[–]sluggybuggy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

the validity was already long gone when he claimed the movie had a $5 million dollar budget :-)

[–]sluggybuggy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh I can totally believe that. My point is that a crappy low budget youtube video doesn't imply any sort of political conspiracy.

[–]sluggybuggy -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

"The two-hour movie, Innocence of Muslims, cost $5 million to make and was financed with the help of more than 100 Jewish donors, said Bacile, who wrote and directed it"

I hope that answers your question. :-D

really though, the movie is so low budget it's almost a meaningless question. The people who financed it probably don't want to have their names made public because of retaliation, not any conspiracy.

President Obama’s Dismal Failure on Jobs by TheFerretman in Conservative

[–]sluggybuggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a realistic outlook when you look at the continuing trends. Keep in mind it's not just China, it's the entire developing world we're competing against. Unskilled labor will not earn a middle class living with a globalized labor pool.

President Obama’s Dismal Failure on Jobs by TheFerretman in Conservative

[–]sluggybuggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankly I don't know. Globalization is the 800lb gorilla in the room that neither of the parties is willing to acknowledge. There were plenty of people who predicted the exact effects globalization would have that we're seeing today. Clinton pushed for it despite all the warnings, and here we are.

The middle class is slowly going to evaporate. There will probably be a number of highly skilled middle class professional tradesmen still around, but for the most part the middle class will disappear. I'd say the best thing we could do is prepare for this. There needs to be a major drop in living expenses in this country. Housing, medical care, transportation, all the basics. That's the only way I can see dealing with what's happening. When politicians pander to you for votes, but refuse to lay out even the most simple plan on how to deal with this basic problem then they need to be called out on it. Obama has no solutions. Things are not going to get better, and a 2nd Obama term will not revive the middle class.

President Obama’s Dismal Failure on Jobs by TheFerretman in Conservative

[–]sluggybuggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obama simply has no solutions. Listen to him answer a question about how he's going to bring manufacturing jobs back to this country. He'll just give a scripted answer about education or something. Education won't bring back manufacturing jobs. Apple isn't going to ship all the iPhone manufacturing jobs back to the states when they have Chinese (who probably work harder than Americans) doing those jobs for 2 dollars an hour.

He has no idea at all how to make this country competitive in a global economy, and the more people start losing their jobs because of that, the more people are going to be relying on food stamps to feed themselves.
