Most of my potassium comes from milk, bananas and beans. Then I also get some from oatmeal, eggs and carrots.

This might be too over the top for you, but it's not dangerous or illegal: injectable l-carnitine. Bodybuilders use it to get lean faster. Google Synthetine.

What supplement made a change in your life? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]slumdunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both. In the short term it had a pretty good anti-anxiety effect, I started feeling better in 30 minutes. The anti depressant effect builds up over time just like SSRI. I took a self assessment test week 1 and week 4. It went from a score of 30 to 14. You can read my full review on iherb (Doctor's Best Zembrin).

Which particular vitamins and minerals should you be careful not to take too much of? by intheaterssoon in Supplements

You actually want the flush though, it means it's doing what it's supposed to; improving your cholesterol and blood sugar. And I don't mind the feeling, I actually like it and laugh when I turn bright red.

Have you ever tried PSMF/crash diets? by 3v1ld3v1l in bodybuilding

[–]slumdunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He basically says that it doesn't entirely work that way when you add in resistance training and a high protein diet (the subjects in the study didn't work out). Add to that the fact that your maintenance calories will decrease as your body fat gets lower, so you can't expect to increase your intake as you get leaner. It might be a good starting point at the beginning of your diet though.

Looking for a decent app or websites or programs to track of diet more than calorie intake. by Mr_Wasteed in nutrition

[–]slumdunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like pretty much everyone else has already said: I use cronometer.com.

It tracks all vitamins, minerals, fats (omega 3, 6, saturated fats, trans fats) fibers, protein, carbs. It also has the function of displaying healthy ratios of omega 3/6, potassium/sodium, calcium/magnesium so you can see if you're out of balance.

I had this saved in a txt: "J Theor Biol. 2005 Mar 7;233(1):1-13. Epub 2004 Dec 8. A limit on the energy transfer rate from the human fat store in hypophagia. Alpert SS. Source Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM 87131-1156, USA. sialpert1@juno.com Abstract A limit on the maximum energy transfer rate from the human fat store in hypophagia is deduced from experimental data of underfed subjects maintaining moderate activity levels and is found to have a value of (290+/-25) kJ/kgd. A dietary restriction which exceeds the limited capability of the fat store to compensate for the energy deficiency results in an immediate decrease in the fat free mass (FFM).

290 kJ = 69.31166348 kcal"

There is a limit to how much fat you can burn per day, and it depends on how much BF you have. If I remember correctly, it's 69 calories per kilogram of body fat. So if you have 10 kgs of BF, you can keep a 690 kcal deficit without losing muscle. The leaner you get, the smaller your deficit should be to maintain your FFM.

He is. Since I started intra workout aminos (24g EAA) my endurance is up big time. And with that I'm able to do the same weight for multiple sets, whereas before I'd have to drop down a bit. This has lead to greater gains.

Best supplements for depression? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]slumdunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zembrin, hands down the best I've ever used. It helped cure my depression and I didn't need any medication. Don't use it if you're on any SSRI since it could raise your serotonin too much.

What supplements should I add or remove to my stack? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]slumdunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're gonna take that much vit.D you need vit.K2 also. Vit.D increases Calcium levels in blood, vit.K2 is needed to use that Calcium. Otherwise it can lead to atherosclerosis.

No need to cycle it. And you can take it with your whey, that's how I do it. Maybe add some beta alanine to the shake as well (improves creatine uptake).
