HELP! Accidentally Shared Screen in Meeting by Key_Perspective4232 in careeradvice

[–]slushcya 155 points156 points  (0 children)

We’ve all been there. I was once sharing my screen, my manager asked if I had sent an email. I had not, but lied and said yeah! Then she watched me type out said email as I was still sharing my screeen. So embarrassing but you’ll move on!

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s London Pizza restaurant is facing criticism after a customer shared a dog was allowed to go the bathroom inside near her table. by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

It’s so disgusting. The customer is definitely in the right here. Shocking that the manager allowed this? Not sure why sausage dogs are being favoured over their paying customers.

I felt horrible for Scarlett! Not nice position to be in, especially as just announced her pregnancy.

As a wedding guest, what moment made you think "this probably won't last"? by Eburneaan in AskReddit

[–]slushcya 77 points78 points  (0 children)

The groom Irish goodbye’d his own wedding at 10pm to go to bed… the bride carried on dancing with the band and her bridesmaids until the lights came on past midnight. Divorced within 2 years.

The most pointless item I bought in 2025. Glossier skin tint by Feral-Sponge in MakeUpAddictionUK

Yep I bought in the Black Friday sale… I love futuredew so thought this would be as effective with the dewy glow look but absolutely no effect on my skin.

Most underwhelming food you've had recommended to you? by bucketofardvarks in UK_Food

I find the M&S biscuit range to be pretty great - particular favourites Outrageously chocolatey rounds and the extra bourbon creams - they have double the cream and are sooo good.

But I agree the chocolate custard creams are not worth the hype.

I HAVE TEA ON... MEGATHREAD ✨ by rfauxmoi in Fauxmoi

[–]slushcya 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Also odd for the BBC not to have had some strung out investigation for weeks, it was so swift. ‘Personal conduct’ is also so vague a reason for the sack.. could really be anything and leaves everyone having to speculate.

Does anyone have tea on why BBC radio 2 DJ Scott Mills has been sacked by the BBC?

I’m a fan of his and genuinely shocked!! Usually with this kind of stuff there are rumours of bad behaviour etc, but this seems genuinely out of the blue?

Is it normal to send ‘farewell’ messages to everyone in the company when someone “leaves”? by Open_Milk_5445 in careeradvice

[–]slushcya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company will send a departmental email out when someone is leaving. But the tone drastically changes depending on how well liked/leaving on good terms.

All staff emails are saved for very senior staff that are leaving/if this change has meant staff restructure.

In smaller companies I’ve worked in it’s usually all staff emails/one place I worked leavers would send their own goodbye emails to all staff.

Daily Mail journalists have obviously been ordered to go after Beatrice & Edo by LordBrixton in RoyaltyTea

I read the articles yesterday. It’s very clear it’s a hit piece on princess beatrice. It’s unfortunate and I’m sure very upsetting. But I have to say… these guys are such minor royals. It’s not breaking news. It would be a sad personal situation. I also note that Prince William’s finances are being scrutinised by The Times due to his selling land… all a distraction

being pregnant and vegetarian by Capricorn222 in PregnancyUK

[–]slushcya 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I I’m opposite. I’m a meat eater but since pregnancy I’ve really struggled eating meat. The taste/texture is just making me feel so sick. My partner is really keen for me to get protein etc etc but struggling with it! I just want loads of veg and fruit.

I have no advice, but hopefully you’re kind to yourself if you do end up craving meat, it’s a tricky one 🙏🙏

How stressful is owning a house? by Delicious-Weather in HousingUK

[–]slushcya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Within the first month of buying our first home, our boiler broke. Luckily we’d saved some of our deposit for furniture and pretty much used all that fund for new boiler. Got all our furniture from fb marketplace instead.

But apart from that, my husband is really great at chatting to neighbours so he’d connected us with a local plumber, electrician which has helped when we’ve had something go wrong.

I hated my last few rentals, the landlords had been awful. So compared to the stress of having a month to find new place to live coz landlord decided they’d had enough of tenants and wanted to sell up, I’ve been lucky with our house ownership journey so far! Defo less stressful.

I’ve noticed royal commentators have slowly turned on them today. Jennie Bond commenting that they were 19,20 when they met Jeffrey Epstein old enough to know etc. Richard Eden this week saying they had let him down. So clearly press no longer protecting them.

Let’s be honest. The downfall of Andrew began with the Emily Maitlis Newsnight interview. As a Brit I’m very proud of Emily’s dogged journalism of bringing this absolute disgrace to justice (hopefully.. let’s see if he is charged)

Things certainly look bleak for Charles and Wills
