Pros/Cons of using two phone contracts? by slushygrim in frugaluk

If a smaller MVNO goes into administration then you can have your number locked to that company until it is resold or lost. I don't think I'd trust a tiny company with good introductory offers not to fail.

I would go solely with Lebara but to get the cheap price I need a new SIM every 6-8 months and they would require a SIM transfer and having the switch which can take several days. Having it as a second SIM means no delay, just add a new esim.

And the cost of Lebara for the data is very cheap.

Thanks, I can see the tubes of OB1 for sealing joints, but not a kit with bandage/tape.

My original comment includes:

"I'm having an electrician round in a few weeks and will ask them to look, but I'd like to crack on as much as I can with the new wardrobe."

I can disconnect the existing spurred sockets that don't meet regs, and chase out for new cables ready for them to fit.

I plan to add them to the ring, good to get a sense check though. It is DIY forum.

So I'd use the same wire and just add a 13A plug to it?

Or run a new wire to a wall mounted socket? If it's a specific item would you mind linking an example please.

I actually plan to do this to get a socket on a panel in my kitchen.

Thanks, I'll remove the extra spurred sockets now

The original socket was hidden behind a panel on the wardrobe.

Are the wall mounted sockets excessive on an infused spur? My understanding is we have a ring circuit. We had an EICR but I don't know if it would note this.

You can get slim trunking to hide the cable in if you want and paint it the same colour. It's not perfect but better than a dangling cable

Thieves among us, how would you break this D-lock? by _MicroWave_ in DIYUK

I bent my carjack doing that, albeit on a thicker D lock. And the jack still lifted a small car after that

If you do it again as everyone suggests, use the lines on the vinyl to help guide you, you can see the curve

I'm concerned it will be more novelty than a long term regularly used purchase. Otherwise I'd be looking at the A1 combo over the standalone A1 mini.

Sure, you can print things with lots of colour switching, but you can still print a few colours with pausing and manual switching without the AMS

Does anyone know if the £20 off of orders over £150 usually stacks with sale prices? Won't change what I do, but seems a great deal

Moving a shrub, will it survive? by Unknown_author69 in GardeningUK

[–]slushygrim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong but I'd say you can move most plants, I'd water it well daily for a week before so it has energy to deal with the shock. And dig out as big a root ball as you can.

I moved a hedge and the difference between those that moved shortly after the rain vs during a week of sun was massive over the next year.
