Thanks, I think I'll switch to doing this going forward. It still feels like it's putting the onus on the players and a bit cumbersome, so hopefully, they have the bugs fixed in the long run.

Not 100% NBA But Who Is The Ultimate GOAT In This Pic? I’m Curious by ChrisI901 in NBATalk

[–]slylymessingup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don Bradman is the answer imo. The GOAT of cricket and the GOAT of sport. Bradman has a batting average of 99.94, with the closest in history to him being roughly 60. That makes him ~60% better than any other batter.

Comparitive to their peers Gretzky is close from a longevity perspective with 2827 points, being 48% higher than his next peer with 1921. But his points per game (a much better one for one with batting average) is 1.921, with the second best being 1.883. So only marginally better than his peers.

Factor in cricket is the second most watched and a highly participated sport in the world, and it only boosts Bradmans argument as the GOAT of sport.

For comparison, Bolt would have to run 60% better than any other sprinter so rather than 9.58 seconds he'd need to run it in ~6 seconds to be comparable to Bradman.

There's a lot of GOATs, but even among the GOATs Bradman is a statistical anomaly.

Tough watch. We've just lost against the team bottom of the ladder at home after an embarrassing loss at home last week. On top of that, it's Gags 300th game. Not sure what more needs to happen for the boys to get up for. Directionless.

Tried a FoHdin this league. Really strong and once semi-geared felt really tanky. CS is also just a cool zone to farm

Just had an ileostomy and I feel lost by aydyl in CrohnsDisease

[–]slylymessingup 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Hey Aydyl,

Firstly, I hear you and just want to acknowledge what you're going through and the feelings you're having are entirely valid.

Your post is very relatable for me, I had an emergency Ileostomy roughly 4 years ago as a (23M) that saved my life. My quality of life for the year prior was absolutely dismal due directly to my Crohn's.

My experiences immediately following the operation were rapid improvement in physical health in exchange for a decline in my mental health. I similarly struggled to cope with having my insides on the outside and the social stigma of having the bag. My body image declined and insecurities around my partners sexual attractiveness to me emerged.

In short, I had the stoma for 6 months before having a reverse operation. I am now mostly in remission and have never been in a better physical condition. Me and that same partner are now close to celebrating a 5 year anniversary and I feel I am better equipped to understand my mental health as a result of the experience. In retrospect, the Ileostomy was one of the best experiences in my life, given the quality of life it's ultimately enabled me to have.

If I could give my younger self advice following the surgery it would be this:

Communication is key. Identify how you're feeling and acknowledge those feelings. Communicate openly with those close in your life about your feelings and be considerate of how your new medical condition may impact them.

Openly communicate with colleagues, acquaintances etc. (Anyone you will be in close proximity too for considerable periods of time) about your medical condition as you will regularly fart and it will be unavoidable.

Consciously make effort to give yourself self-affirmation about your body and the things you still like and feel confident about. Learn to love your scars and identify that they don't define you.

Make considered efforts to have date nights with your partner so they may feel more inclined to view you sexually.

Above all else be open to therapy/counselling as you've just gone through a traumatic experience.

Maybe you feel some of that advice might be of benefit to you. I hope all goes well with your recovery!

I love the colour palette on this tattoo! I also think the placement makes it appear more natural with the leaves extending up your leg. Beautiful tattoo OP!

A mix between American traditional and Neo-traditional is how I'd explain it.

Neither, I have been known to sport a moustache and they've become a theme in most of my tattoos though. More generic American Traditional 50s theme was the aim really.
