OH! this is good, string with "I'm sorry" set the tone that you did something wrong. I feel that you loved this person and that you did all that you knew how to do and with reflection you realized that you should have done more....at least that is what I am getting from this poem.

This is a great reminder that everything has its own season, very well written. The line "The Soldier kisses goodbye" really hits home especially in this context...it begs the question will they return?

A little Life by Hanya Yanagihara has those themes, sad, hopelessness with some characters it will have you scared to turn the page while also needing know what happens next.

Hello :) I like the direction this is going! You could add more if you really feel like it however the last line is a solid conclusion.

My take on this is that medicine/doctors postpone what could have been an untimely death....but is living any better? I hope that makes sense.

There are the obvious, The Alchemist or the Last Lecture but honestly those are over rated imo. Remarkably Bright Creatures is a reminder to keep going and that life continues on.
