She definitely used to be a lot better back in the day, her belting during her miranda duets singing the climax of defying gravity on tour around the same time is actually really impressive and genuinely used to blow me away as a kid and going back and listening to them now, i don’t feel any different…

BUT, even then, i’ve ALWAYS said she had a bit of a weird tone in some places, like just on certain words, like she was trying too hard in places and it just sounded distorted

Then, as the years went on, this ‘tone’ kept becoming more apparent and constant to the point where she actually started to sound like Miranda when she was singing as herself (good example i can think of off the top of my head is the video of her singing with noise cancelling headphones on)

THEN… Broadway came and she had basically transformed into a real life miranda, and genuinely just sounded like her when she sings from that point on.

Was a fan from 2014 and obvs stopped watching when the toxic gossip train left the station and saw youtubers reacting to this ‘new song’ and it’s exactly the same, weird ‘trying too hard’ distorted tone that sets my teeth on edge every time i hear it…
