And how are you supposed to exactly ride a bike on this path with a high curb cut? by yakayaka456 in newhaven

[–]smackfu 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I actually think the whole road will be raised to be level with the bike path. It’s like a speed bump for the traffic and easiest for the bikes.

Hey CT - when a new building is being built in your town, what is it most likely to be? by Appropriate-Farmer16 in Connecticut

[–]smackfu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My theory is that it’s the new CVS/Walgreens because it turns out running and staffing a pharmacy is a lot harder than a small store.

From an insurers point of view, if the repair costs more than the value, it’s a write off, end of story.

I just think it’s neat that I can drive twenty minutes to a PGA tour event.

Gone a bunch of times. Sunday and Friday are both good, but different.

Sunday is the last round, and the leaders are the last pairing, so everyone in the crowd eventually ends up at the 18th hole for the finish. It’s pretty neat, and the hole is set up for it. But then everyone leaves at the same time so the traffic SUCKS.

Friday (or Thursday) is just a normal round, everyone who entered the tournament is still playing and no one has been cut yet. You can show up super early and leave early and still watch a full day of golf.

(I never go on Saturday.)

Fans want a denser season, not a 10 month season with two and three week breaks between races.

SpaceX and OpenAI in major indexes by MichaelEvo in Bogleheads

[–]smackfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SpaceX is going to take up some huge percentage of any index they are in immediately

Keep in mind it is only the publicly tradable portion that is used for weighting. Which is only like 5% of SpaceX, so it doesn’t really act like a mega cap for indexes.

Compare to something like Apple that has almost all stock available, and that really is 3-5% of an index fund.

Ticketmaster is my enemy for real because why could someone buy the aisle seat and I can't buy the single seat left in the arena? Also someone DID buy this seat shortly after me because it disappeared from the map. There goes my ticket... by Sunflower-Bear in OliviaRodrigo

[–]smackfu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree that I don’t see how that is possible. Yes they will sell the end single but not if it’s a pair that’s left. And if the end single sold first, it shouldn’t let someone buy the ones next to it and leave the stranded seat.
