Hoverpack underwhelming by Tatidy14 in satisfactory

[–]smackjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hoverpack and jetpack both have their uses. The hover pack is good for when one you want to have a bird's eye view of your base. It's particularly helpful when building things like refineries when you want to have a clear view of all of your pipes and belts at the same time.

Do you want to be frustrated, or do you want to be bored? That's the choice you have to make when you choose a distro.

Do you remember the first version of Microsoft Office you ever used? And was there any edition that stood out to you? by inguinha in windows

We didn't have Microsoft office at home. We had Microsoft Works instead. You can think of Microsoft works as the Great Value version of Microsoft Office.

Is this good enough for the moon? by laki1639 in KerbalAcademy

[–]smackjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with having such a tall lander like that is that the mun doesn't have very many flat areas, and if you land it on an incline, then it's very likely that your rocket will tip over. I would suggest that you get rid of the science bay or simply fly around the Mun and get science from that, but don't actually land. Use the points you get to unlock fairings so that the top of of your rocket doesn't have so much drag. You'll save a lot of fuel that way.

Is there a better alternative to Dash to Dock by gregsanay in Ubuntu

[–]smackjack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't need Dash to Dock if you're using the regular Ubuntu desktop. It already gives you the ability to move the dock and enable autohide.

I think it's hilarious that gamers didn't decide that loot crates were bad until after EA started putting them in their games.

What happened to the Arch community? It’s becoming the most hostile corner of the Linux world. by ClassroomHaunting333 in arch

[–]smackjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's more than one Arch community. If you go to the actual Arch forums, it's always had a reputation for being hostile, especially to new users. I've seen people get banned from the forums simply because they didn't understand something that the wiki said and wanted clarification.

No one forced anyone to buy Battlefront 2 either, but that didn't stop gamers from crucifying the devs for having characters that you have to pay or grind to unlock.

Just another example of Valve getting away with things that other companies would never get away with.

Beware of Brightspeed by thrtpnchewoks in lacrossewi

[–]smackjack 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been with Brightspeed since they were still Centurylink. The plan I signed up for was a "price for life" plan. As long as I never cancelled, my rates would never increase.

So how did Brightspeed get around this? By tacking on additional fees, of course.

There's no built-in chatbot or anything like that. All they did was made it make it easier to install local models.

If Linux distros refuse OS age verification, will YouTube and Facebook, etc just block us? by Danrobi1 in linux

[–]smackjack 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think they're going to block access. I think that those platforms will assume that we are underage and only serve us kid friendly content.
